Best Dessert at Brown Derby?

okay... 11-13-2011 i will be eating at the brown derby for the first time. and i'm trying to chose my choices now so that i know what i want instead of wasting valuable time choosing and heming and hawing. lol. but you never know what will pop up right?

anyway, what is the best dessert at the brown derby?

I got the grapefruit cake and was disappointed. It was dry!

I like DH's Banana Tower much much better.

I voted for the grapefruit cake. My second favorite is the warm fruit cobbler with crème fraîche.

I wasn't a big fan of the caramelized granny smith cheesecake, and while the banana white chocolate toffee tower is good, I've gotten it at Starring Rolls where it costs less (it was the same thing, aside from the caramel sauce basically).

I haven't tried the other two (crème brûlée or chocolate three ways).

Warning: Not everyone likes the grapefruit cake. Some people think it's too sour, some think it's not strong enough. I think it's perfect.

I like the crème brûlée. I haven't had the grapefruit cake at the Brown Derby, but I have made their recipe at home and it is very good too.

I love the grapefruit cake. My husband likes the banana tower. We've also had the chocolate and it is my least favorite of the 3 we've tried.

Love the Brown Derby, if I make it to dessert then I'm a big fan of the creme brulee, followed by the chocolate 3 ways.

Ixnay the "Chopped Cobb Salad" and the "Graperfruit Cake". I'm sorry but the salad is like swill, it's so chopped up and the cake, well it does nothing for me.

I voted for the chocolate 3 ways because that's what DH got when we were there. I had the grapefruit cake after all of the talk about it on here, but was completely disappointed in it. Like another poster said, it was dry. Nothing great about it at all.

Sorry that your piece was dry - that sounds unusual.

To me, what makes it great is that it's very different from other cakes. It's not just a pure sugar rush with lardy frosting on top. It has sour and tart bursts of citrus flavor, and a tangy cream cheese frosting, along with light, fluffy layers of cake. It's unique, a Brown Derby original, and unlike many Disney desserts/snacks, it's not too sweet.

I would not order if if you don't like grapefruit - it's very grapefruit forward in the flavor profile.

My choice now is between the Banana Tower thing and the warm cobbler...
probably go with the banana but now i lowered my choices.
The grapfruit cake is too iffy for me to try to pick it. I don't really want to end up with something that can go either way. lol.
