Best deal on Skylanders Swap Force figures?

My DS already has the Skylander games, he's just asking for the new swap force characters. I've seen deals on the starter packs that come with figures, but not any deals on just the swap force figures alone. Anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't seen many deals on Skylanders lately. The cheapest I have seen is at Walmart though.

Thank you! I will look there. I would've thought TRU would've had deals, but I guess most the deals are on the older figures.

Before buying, you might want to make sure the Swap Force will work on Skylanders or Skylanders Giants. I was told they will not work without the Swap Force starter pack.

The Swap Force characters only work on the new Swap Force platform.

I was also unclear as to whether the OP's DS had the SwapForce game. Would hate for him to have those characters and not be able to play. The old characters work on the newer games but not the other way around.

Oh no, I thought the Swap Force would work on the older Skylander games. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and buy the starter pack. :-(

Walmart has it on sale this week for $59.99. There is a new portal because of the technology of the swappable ones. The old characters will still work with the new game. All of the characters have colored bottoms that coorespond to the game they come from:

Spyro = Green
Giants = Orange
SwapForce = Blue
