Best days to buy airline tickets

Several years ago I read that some days (or nights) of the week were better (cheaper) for purchasing fares than others. I searched this thread and couldn't find anything that appeared related to this.

Is there a day in the week that airlines might have cheaper fares than other days? I have been looking online for a few days and saw fares go up over the weekend and come down a bit today. I (naturally) want to get the best deal I can!

it used to be early AM midweek, but with all the different business models these days that is no longer true. It may hold true for some but not all airlines.

The best day of the week to buy airfare is the day that you find airfare and schedules which are acceptable for the route.
