Best Days have been updated today!

I guess I didn't do to bad either. Out of 7 days I have 4-4's 2-5's and 1-7.

Nice - In February I've got 4 (5's) and 3 (6's).

In July, I've got 11 (8's).

I am looking at strait 6's for my week in January. Not too bad, I guess.

Thanks for the update!

I thought January (after the first week, anyway) was supposed to be a really slow time in the World. But this update shows 6's and a 7 for January 24-28 when I'll be there. What gives? I'll be at a conference & won't have much park time. I was really hoping to get a lot done in the short time I will be in the parks. Looks like wishful thinking!

I got all 6s the week I'm going in January..I was expecting at least 4s.

I was kind of confused about the numbers as well. I could understand the 6's if the MYW deal had been a bit better, but as it was, I was expecting 3's and 4's with a couple of 5's. Now I am a bit concerned... Hmm...

Anyone have an explanation?

Our family is going for the first time ever in just 15 days.... . When we first picked our week to go the Best Days calendar showed all 1's for that week. Now we're up to 4's, 5's, a 6 and a 7. But you know what....who cares?! We'll be in WDW with our DDs enjoying the magic and the Christmas spirit. And it's better than all 8's, 9's and 10's!!!!

Two things -- WDW is still in the throws of the HCOE and are predicting larger than normal crowds due to that and also, everyone is trying to be there when E:E opens (rumors still circulating that there will be soft opening in later January).

An FYI to everyone, the current numbers are a different way of rating the weeks. Basically, touringplans/Unofficial Guide has changed how they rate the days. I get the impression that a 3 is the equivalent of a 1 and a 4 is the equivalent of a two, but I could be wrong. If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page, it will give you and explanation of what each rating means.

When I first saw the changes in September, I was mortified. We picked our week because of 1's as well.

Lentesta is a member of this board. He runs that site, I believe. He may have a better clarification of the changes.

4-4's one five and a 7 I guess that is not bad since I usually go when it is straight 8's! :cheer2:

I have 7's for our Feb trip but 10's for our April trip! Yikes!

Happiest Celebration on Earth

Hi folks,

Shel is right, the scale did change. I think the least busy times of the year are those rated "3" - I don't see any 2s in the calendar.

Anything in the 3/4 range is what I'd consider "slow." 5 to 7 is average, and 8 and above is busy. As always, it's best to show up early and have a touring plan. The plan doesn't have to be a Microsoft Project layout of your vacation - a basic idea of which lands you're going to cover first each day will go a long way toward reducing your waits in line.

We noted in the Crowd Blog that the average error on our predictions is around 8 minutes. So if we're estimating a wait of 65 to 74 minutes, the actual waits are usually within 57 to 82, for example.

Also keep in mind that these aren't predictions about how long we expect average waits to be; it's a prediction of what the worst wait will be at the MK's headliner attractions. If you follow a touring plan and get there early, you'll almost certainly not encounter any waits like these. In testing we started this summer, people arriving early following a touring plan tended to have waits in the 4 to 12 minute range for each attraction. That includes both standby and FASTPASS line use. There are occasional exceptions to this (such as when you just miss the start of a show, for example), but overall, waits are pretty low.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your vacations!

OK, I know everyone loves these charts but I really take them with a grain of salt. They have at least two days in Dec as being 3 or 4...no way. We were there last year at that time and it was way more crowded than we ever imagined. I had been in the post-Thanksgiving pre-Christmas season before, maybe 10 or 12 years ago and it was like that, but no more. The word is out and it is crowded!

Also, we are going in Jan right after MLK day and they have the week as 6, I would be astonished if the crowd levels were that high.

I am just going by our experiences but I think there numbers are off.
