Best Dates in March???

We'll be visiting our DD in Tampa on March 6 and hoping to squeeze in a couple of days at WDW before or after. We're not familiar with the many Spring Break periods and since we hate crowds... can you suggest which would be better: March 3-5 or March 7-9? THANKS

In our area, any of those two dates would be safe. Spring break will start in the middle of march

I am guessing the earlier date would be better just to be on the safe side, but I think either would be fine. You might want to call CRO and ask about room availibility, even if you're not booking. They may be able to tell you if there's going to be a big convention or event.

As I am looking at dates Mar 1 thru March 6th for our visit to Disney World I see lots of rooms available real cheap too. I also called and checked to see if any conventions and was told that nothing is in the works for that week.

We were there March 3-10, 2002. When we first got there the crowds were light -- about 10 min waits. By the end of the week it was MUCH more crowded, particularly at the Magic Kingdom. I remember that we had a 45 minute wait at Big Thunder Mtn at around 10:30 AM late in the week but earlier in the week, at about the same time, the wait was less than 10 minutes. I remember this specifically because my 5 year old kept asking to ride it again, and we could on the first few days but not later in the week.

We're at the Dolphin as well. Our first time to stay there and we're all so excited! Well, I am, anyway--my family thinks I'm wacko.

The first full week in March is our 'regular' week to go, from the 5th to the 13th in 2004. The crowds are light to moderate by my estimation, 15 min or shorter waits until about noon when crowds build. I also noticed parks getting more crowded as the week went on, Fri. being much more crowded than the first Sat. in MGM, but this may just be a day of the week thing, not due to it getting later in the month.
