We are staying at AKV, so when we are at MK for the day, we'll pretty much stay put there. Any recommendations for CS at MK or nearby resorts - quick boat ride/tram ok? Breakfast or lunch or brunch and dinner? We have a 2 yr old and 4 yr old. Not picky eaters, but something easy and decent would be nice. We have ADRs for character meals on the other days already.

There is a thread on these boards about $40 a day for meals. It is almost all counter service and snack carts. No it is not all hamburgs, chicken nugets and fries. In fact there is very little of that. People have figured it out including tax and tip.

We like Columbia Harbor House for CS at MK - if you wanted to go to a nearby resort, we like Gasparilla's Grill at GF.

totally agree w/ Columbia Harbor House.... it's got something for everyone. Pecos Bill's is also great. I'm not sure it would be worth leaving the park to go to a counter service someplace else unless you just want a change of scenery or to see the resorts.

We like Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Rays. There is an animatronic lounge singer at Cosmic Rays, so it might be some entertaining for the kids there. Good food at both.

At the Magic Kingdom I would recommend Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. As for a counter service location in one of the Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts I would recommend the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary.

Columbia Harbour House all the way!!! It's our only MUST DO restaurant in MK. Love it. And the second floor seating area is never crowded.

It depends on what you're looking for. Pecos Bills has a great Taco Salad and my DS loves the pulled pork sandwich there too. Cosmic Rays has an awesome rotisserie chicken meal and a greek salad that's pretty good. Columbia Harbour has a couple of good salads and the lighthouse sandwich (yummy) plus some decent fried seafood. We decide where we're going to eat based on where we happen to be in the park instead of running back and forth from land to land. And we always do breakfast at The Main Street Bakery. Have a great trip!:goodvibes

i second that vote for cosmic rays or pecos bills for counter service at MK...a little bit of a step up but still inexpensive is that place on at the end of main street next to the ice cream shop...they mainly sell sandwiches and frappes, probably $10-12

Sorry, late to the party.

Main Street Bakery for Breakfast
Columbia Harbor House for Dinner

would be my picks. Lunch I would probably do at Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's.

Another vote for:

Cosmic Rays
Pecos Bills (be careful what time you go it can get very crowded)
Columbia Harbour Haus (so nice to go upstairs, I have never been when it is crowded up there and you can watch the crowds from the windows if you like to people watch)

If you want something different you could take the little boat over to Grand Floridian to eat, the boat ride is nice and peaceful and the food is fine, you can explore the resort if you would like. If the kids are wanting to ride the monorail again you could take it over to the Contemporary and have lunch there, the shopping there is my favorite! :cloud9:
