Best credit card for frequent flyer miles or cash back?

What deals do you have for frequent flyer miles or cash back that are tied into your credit cards?

I've always used a CitiBank AAdvantage card, to get American Airlines miles. It's getting more and more difficult to use frequent flyer miles (so few seats on each flight) but I was able to cash in all my miles for 3 tickets to Paris.

We're planning a late May 2005 trip to WDW, so I'll use my Disney Visa exclusively until then, then switch to another card when the trip is over.

I use the CapitalOne MilesOne card. We haven't redeemed any miles yet, but hope to in the summer of 2005 if/when we book a CA Disney cruise.

We chose the MilesOne over the others because you can use your miles for any airline, there are no blackout dates, and the interest is fixed at 9.9%.

The main drawback is that it takes a long time to earn tickets. I think about $30,000 of spending will get you one ticket.

All mileage programs are more difficult to redeem these days, but having said that, I prefer the Delta Sky Miles (Amex)Platinum card. First of all I get double miles for the things "we use everyday". Double miles for groceries, gasoline, drug store purchases, home improvement store purchases, etc. I charge everything. I charge my phone bills, cell and land line, home heating oil, cable bill, etc. There are also restaurants that offer 10 miles for every dollar spent. You can register your card with www.idine.com and the miles are credited pretty quickly. Also, The Delta Sky miles card often runs specials for purchases during a certain time frame or with particular vendors which increases your miles. Our family will be taking our third trip to Hawaii from the east coast this summer. The first two vacations, six of us traveled. This vacation, only five are going but DH and I are flying first class.

We just got the citibank AA card this fall. It's got it's pluses and minuses. There's a $75 annual fee that I didn't like, but I got 10,000 miles for free, so that was the trade off. I found out that Discover also has a mileage card, and we may switch back to that when this year is up.

Remember when you drop your card, you lose any unused miles.
