What is the best CS food in WS? Give the name of the place, location, why it's the best and/or your fave dish there.

The bakery in Norway. I love just about everything there. The sweet pretzel which is a kringle is my absolute favorite. I love the school bread, it's kind of like a donut (but not as sweet) filled with vanilla custard and vanilla glaze and coconut on top. :flower: The Cloudberry Horn is really delicious also. It's a pastry shaped horn with big sugar pieces on the outside and it's filled with sweet cream. YUM!

Wow - hard to choose! I picked the fish shop at the UK, but I also love the place in Morocco and that would probably be DH's choice.

It was really a bakery toss up for me between France and Norway, but alas, Norway won the battle because of the school bread! I adore this thing! France is not far behind, though, because of their yummy desserts!

Maybe i'm just a sucker for meat and cheese but I do so love the combo platter at the Cantina in Mexico. Top that off with a Dos Equis.. mmm heaven.

On our last trip we tried Yakitori in Japan and we really loved the teriyaki chicken. If you are snacking around the world showcase, they have a wonderful serving of chicken for $1. If you want rice with it, there is a larger size.

I also love all the desserts in the patisserie in France.

While we never miss Kringala for dessert (School Bread fans here!) and we usually get fish & chips at some point, our overall favorite is the Tangierine. Tasty and interesting food, lots of variety, plenty to eat for the money. We actually enjoy the counter service better than the sit down in Morocco.

I had to vote for the UK country fish shop basically because it was the only one on the list we had tried  . It was excellent! We went back for seconds! But I think we are definitely going to have to try several of the others on our next trip with Kringala heading the list. DS also loves Mexican food, so we'll have to make a stop there.

I voted for Yorkshire fish shop! We love the fish and chips! But, we also had a good lunch at the American pavillion last trip. I had a turkey sandwich on a bagel that came with a small salad. It was very good. Dh had a footlong hot dog that he said was good also! They have a nice toppings bar also!

I voted for Yakitori House, which was very good when I went. I had a chicken terriyaki thing.

I like the Liberty Inn. I had a really good burger there. I also loved their apple pie ala mode.:flower: It is indoors and air conditioned-- a good place to relax in the middle of World Showcase.

I picked fish shop because love that in the summer with a nice cold pint! But a close second would be the French place for snacks.

Everything that I have had there is wonderful, and they have a nice variety of sweet and savory type things you can order. I also just really like the atmosphere of that pavillion. School bread baby!

I voted for Kringla Bakeri in Norway because of the rice cream but love the shawarma platter at Tangierine Cafe too.

I am so glad so many people have taken the poll. I have eaten at two TS resturants, in Mexico and Italy and one CS, China but I don't remember what it was like. I want to hit some more of the CS places next trip. Please remember to give the name of the place, location, why it's the best and/or your fave dish there.

Well, if your talking about counter service for a meal...

i would say mexico... i usually get the wet burrito, you get a nice portion for what you pay, and it isn't that much compared to the rest of the park.

ITALY?? actually i never realized that there was a counter service in italy... unless, it is the area that sells late's and pastries. but if they had one that sold pasta or something, that would be nice. do they?

Norway does have nice pastries, i like the frosted sweet pretzel, or the rice pudding.

when dh and i ate at Tangierine Cafe in morrocco we didn't really like it. dh got the chicken gyro wrap and i got the lamb platter. i love lamb and gyros, but this tasted "okay", but afterwards dh and i were both saying, "We should have tried somewhere else." i don't think that we will be visiting there again. although i have heard that the food in the sit down restaurant is 10 times better, so we may try there.

we haven't been to the cs in usa because we figure... why? we can get a hot dog, hamburger anywhere. we like to go to sample the ethnic foods.

good luck!

jen

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco right now in the lead with 17.53% of the vote, but the race is close. China is trailing behind, is everyone afraid this is where the missing pets from the WDW kennel end up? :earseek:

I just added the pastry place in Italy just to get Italy in the mix, and the Refreshment Port and "other" just to have extra choices and fill up the poll. And it seems most agree with jenjen212, that they rather get away from the traditional fair while touring WS.
