When at MK we love El Pirata Y El Perico in Adventureland (near Pirates of the Carribean). The tacos are surprisingly good for counter service (fresher and not greasy like Taco Bell), and the portions are fairly good for the price. Try it, you might like it!

MK-Pecos Bill's

AK-Flame Tree BBQ

MGM-used to be Backlot Express, but I heard they got rid of their condiments bar:(

EP-Liberty Inn

Now, I'm hungry!;)

A few other good ones my family really likes:

MK: Columbia Harbor House - It is usually pretty easy to find a seat here, and it is nice and cool on a hot day. And I like the fish-and-chips type of food.

EPCOT: If you don't get a chance to grab breakfast before hitting the park, I think the Electric Umbrella has a pretty decent breakfast. I have also found it to be relatively uncrowded (during breakfast hours) on our last couple of trips.

We also love El Pirata and El Perico in MK, and I also like the roasted chicken meal and the fruit and cheese plate at Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland.

In EPCOT Electric Umbrella does have a great breakfast. For any other meal I find it hard to beat The Land food court area. Lots of really yummy stuff.

At MGM I like the place between Indy and Star Tours (is that Backlot?) they have the best tuna sandwich you can get anywhere!

What a great thread! Thanks for all the suggestions on counter service!

Hello,

Here are some of our favorite counter service stops :

MK:
Pecos Bills - the burgers and fixin's bar are a cut above the rest. Can get crowded and noisy.

Columbia Harbour House - I love the fish baskets here, and they also have chicken. Upstairs seating is usually very relaxed.

Pirate & The Parrot - Tasty tacos and similar fare

Epcot :
Yakitori House, Japan - Nice selections, reasonably priced, limited seating however.

Cantina de San Angel, Mexico : tacos, burritos that are a step above taco bell fare. Outdoor seating on the lagoon.

The little shop in Norway ( can't be sure of the name, think it's Kringla Bakery) - Has sandwiches, and fantastic dessert dishes. A nice choice, with covered outdoor seating.

Animal Kingdom :
Flame Tree Barbeque - great eats, see if they still are running the meal voucher program, makes for a good deal.

MGM :
ABC commissary has a nice varied selection for a counter service place. Lots of seating available too.

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Bill

MK: Cosmic Ray's, Aloha Isle
Epcot: The Land food court
MGM: ABC Commissary
AK: Tusker House

MK: Columbia Harbor House

Epcot: Yakitori House (Japan)

AK: Tusker House

MGM: Nothing really good (and nothing with the word "House" in it :)). We usually end up at the food court near ToT and I get a burger from Rosie's and my DD gets a hot dog at the ice cream place.
