Please tell me about the other DVC resorts at Christmas. We won't close our VWL contract in time for Christmas ressies so I wanted to consider the other resorts as well.

Our home resorts are BWV & BCV.

BWV is next in our opinion.

We've stayed at BWV in December and that was great. In the grassy area between the hotel and the boardwalk there were community performers scheduled at different times. We heard singers, flutes, and (this one at WVL a bell choir). I didn't get a schedule when I checked in, don't know if it was an oversite, but when I asked for a schedule of performers, I was given one.

One reason that we liked staying in the Boardwalk area was the ease to go to other nearby resorts, Swan/Dolphin/Beach/Yacht Clubs to see their decorations.

Santa was in the lobby of BWV at scheduled times, in the comfy chair by the fireplace.

At SSR, it was an easy walk to DTD where we also saw/heard community groups preform.

I understand that the balconies at OKW are beautifully decorated, like a true community.

I'm hoping there will be a DVC Christmas tree pass along thread started, probably closer to June/July, sign up for a tree if you can.

Bobbi :)

VWL/WL is clearly our favorite, but in December 2006 we are staying at our second favorite Christmas time resort, The Grand Floridian. No, it's not a DVC Resort, but it may be worth some consideration for a cash ressie.
We have never stayed there, but we always visit especially during the holiday season. The gingerbread house is really awesome, as are the rest of the decs. :smokin:

I'd recommend either BWV or BCV, depending on your tastes. BCV is closest to Epcot, which is one of the "where it's at" places at Christmas time-the CP, Christmas version of Illuminations, WS Santas, Tree Lighting. BWV is more centered between Epcot and MGM which has Osborne Lights. Also, at BWV there's a Christmas tree outside on the green that's all made of poinsettas, really pretty. And I love the garland strung around the lights on the Boardwalk and the Christmas music playing.

Well we decided to go ahead and stay at VWL ( cousin booked us ressies) from the 17th-24th.

Now we just have to decide on where we want to stay for the Friday/Saturday before our VWL stay. We were thinking about BWV or BCV so we could see those resorts and their Christmas decor. Simba's Mom...thanks for the reply...sounds like either BWV or BCV would be great!

We were at BWV Christmas 2004, I thought it was beautiful. I would agree that VWL/WL is the best, but I would certainly stay at BWV again during the holidays. One night we were warned of a "trial run" of the MGM NYE fireworks. We stepped out on our balcony and watched the practice and it was terrific. That was just one more little thing that helped make our stay special!

Our family really loves it! :bounce: We do stay at BC concierge tho(DD was a cast member) , we spent our last 2 Christmases with them, UNBELIEVABLE !Every nite you can see fireworks from resort or super easy walk from back entrance gate. BC has had gingerbread carosel in past and YC has a train village Dept 56 type that my DH drools over.I agree the main Christmas festivities are at Epcot from Candle Light Processional to " Santa"and other traditions from around world including one from Japan ( that is that common here in Hawaii).
Let me give you a heads up on one item tho..... do NOT let your keiki eat reindeer stew(Norway) for dinner on Christmas :sad2: .... Santa left our son reindeer "droppings" in his stocking!!!!! :rotfl: ( yes we brought all that too, and got a fiber optic small tree for our room that not only was a nightlite but could be seen from outside!).. :santa: .I have got to get back to my other threads.......I want to go again!!!!!
