Dirty little secret: Children on the Dining Plan must order from a children's menu at Table Service restaurants, but at Quick Service, they can order whatever they'd like. QS isn't divided into "children's credits" and "adult credits."
Which is totally excellent, because sometimes one adult QS is big enough for two adults (let alone two kids!) to eat. So you can get the entree, the drink, and swap the dessert for a second drink.
Places this approach works really well include Pecos Bill's, Flame Tree BBQ, Columbia Harbour House, and anywhere serving entree flatbreads (top of head: Pinocchio's, Contempo Cafe, Captain Cook's). (If you look at the kid's vs. adult menus, there are several items at CHH that are the same, save for scale. Get the bigger one and share, and save the credit!) I think splitting the sliders at Tangierine Cafe (Epcot) also works well.
