Best Character Meet & Greets

Go DLP for amazing character meets!

Can you say more about this? It looks like I am headed to DLP for the first time in early September! I am super nervous, any tips? What makes the M&Gs there so great? Thanks :D

They spend so much time with each guest. I went in dec and last month and couldnt believe how much effort they make with people, alot more than wdw and wdw is great for meets.
The only downside that a 20 minute line to meet the characters will be around 50 minutes.

Goofy in Paris is off the wall!

Enjoy.

Thanks — I see you are a Marie fan. I am a HUGE Marie fan — is she easy to meet in Paris? She would be at the top of my list. (Met at WDW a few weeks ago but line was crazy and it felt super rushed.)

Thanks everyone! Awesome suggestions. It's great to know that Merida is a fun greet. I have an independent red-headed DD for whom the Brave story could have been written. I'll have to make sure Merida is on the M&G short list along with Gaston and the Tremaines who also sound like a lot of fun.

We've had awesome and just OK meet and greets with lots of the same characters. Just depends on the day. Tinkerbell is usually great, but sometimes ho-hum. Talking Mickey doesn't always talk. Merida was fine on our last visit but not amazing. Donald Duck is usually funny but once he came back out from a break and left his personality behind. Meeting characters is my girls most favorite thing to do so we seem to do more meets than rides! Of course, some characters naturally have more fun personalities than others (Gaston, Anna, etc) but a lot of it has to do with the luck of the draw.

The Tremaines for sure. The step-sisters were great with my 11yo son. My younger two (4 and 2.5yo) were too scared to go up to them. At one point my flip flop came off and Lady Tremaine, without missing a beat, said, "Oh don't worry, we know how to handle that."

Talking Mickey is SO magical. LOVE him.
Love the Tremaines and Gaston.
We had a Snow White that was really special. I loved how she interacted with DD, even if she wasn't that high pitched, air headed Snow White.
We've had some awesome Ariels in the Grotto as well as Akershus.

if you are trying to decide between a character meal or MVMCP. I would FOR SURE go to MVMCP. IT is so amazing. the parade and show is not that good.. (i also saw it like 3 years ago... before frozen was popular) but when I saw it it was ok. But more characters out so its worth it to go to mvmcp amd yo uget an extra like 3 hours in the park.. WORTH IT

For me? Donald Duck at Chef Mickey's. The past 3-4 years he's been SO interactive with me and my sister. I wear Donald ears instead of Mickey ears to dinner and he loves it so much he always pulls me aside for extra hugs and pictures and to dance with him during the birthday celebration song they play. He's always came back by the table 5+ times too. It's been probably the most memorable moment of any trip for me.

I was also surprised with Rapuzel and Anna+Elsa on our trip last summer. I'm a teenager so a little out of the normal princess fanatic age range but I was so excited to meet all of them and I guess it showed because they all took a long time with me and my sister. Rapunzel helped me draw a picture for my parents who weren't there with me that year and Anna and Elsa came together and taught me the best way to braid my hair. It was a lot of fun.

When I was little, my favorite was always Alice and the Mad Hatter, especially at Disneyland. I've gotten to ride the teacups with Alice and the Mad Hatter at both WDW and DL growing up!

I went during christmas time when i met her. Long time waiting but only as she spent a long time with each person. She was meeting every day in the corner of town square. She also meets during Halloween.
Not sure if she does meets all year round.
If you go over to the DLP board i am sure they will be able to help.

Gaston and the Tremains are the best, but I've always had great interaction with Sleeping Beauty!

Had a fantastic meet & greet at Epcot this past Saturday with Mickey & Minnie! They were exuberant, funny & interacted with us by asking to sign my plush Mickey & congratulating us on our 2 year anniversary (we wore buttons from Guest Services). They were both sweet & endearing! I'd seen both of them before & this was the best interaction so far!

My DD loved Donald Duck at AK, he kissed her hand, which totally made her day! Another favorite was Rapunzel, she played the character so well and was so sweet & chatted non-stop with my kids.

Funny, last year was our first time at WDW and I never thought my kids cared about meeting characters but it became my DD's mission to meet as many as she could and get autographs. I have great admiration for those characters, they are so great with the kids!

Chip n' Dale and Baloo are my favorites. I make sure to wear my TaleSpin t shirt to AK when I look for Baloo and he LOVES it! We have the best time. I also wear my Rescue Rangers t shirt to Epcot and have the best time with Chip n' Dale! One time they "stole" me away from my husband and took me for a stroll, and we got a special treat from them at Garden Grill.

Also, we stumbled upon Rabbit by surprise in MK and I instantly became a 5 year old and started squealing I was so excited. He is my absolute favorite and I have never seen him. I got huge hugs and we danced around the Pooh ride for awhile!

Merida... my 2 year fell madly in love with her and i think she did with him a bit too...

Oh wow! I think that tink is an awesome character to meet, as is Gaston. WE have had incredibly fun interactions with Goofy and Pluto ( he was hysterical with my DGD in AK ) as was Belle when she met in her blue dress.

I think Belle stands out of me because on two separate trips, she went out of her way to make the occasion special for my Kady. When a character in the parade makes sure to get a child's attention, and let her know she remembered her, well....worth the price of the trip IMO.

I do not think anyone said Mulan yet. She was wonderful and took time out to speak to my DD (9 at the time) privately. They had a very nice chat.
