Best Car Rental Co?

I will be arriving at MCO on 6/8. I am considering renting a car. However, the last time I did so, pick-up was a nightmare! The agency was not on site, and when we arrived, there was a 3 hour line! It was 8PM and I had a hungry 6 yr old in tow.

How do I avoid this nightmare next month? Are there rental agencies with cars at the airport? How does Emerald Isle work? Is there more to membership than just signing up? Who has the best prices? I will be on business and will not need room for the family. Thanks.

the first time that we ever went to Disney we also rented a car offsite. Never again! It was terrible you have to take a shuttle and wait forever for a car. We have rented from Dollar the last four years. Never a problem! They are onsite. I always check out mousesavers for the best rate and then rent from them. Just make sure that you book an onsite rental agency. Another thing that we do is: When we arrive at the airport I go over to the baggage claim area with the kids while my husband goes to the rental car counter. While I am waiting for the bags to arrive he is getting our car checked out. It saves a lot of time instead of waiting at both counters. A tip for you for the future when you bring your six year old again.

I have been renting from Hertz for years. They are offsite but I found they are much quicker than using National. The shuttle is always sitting there and I can be driving away in less than 15 mins. When it is time to return the car I do curbside check in and then return the car.

I just rented a Minivan from Avis. We are arriving May 21st and are leaving May 28th. The rental price is $176 before fees (I think $220 after all fees). I found a link on Mousesavers that helped me get this price.

I am thinking about renting a car for jsut a day. The last day at DIsney our flight leaves at 3:00 p.m. I want to spend time at AK but if I wait for the ME or taxi/car service I don't think I will be able to spend as much time at teh park. How much is a car rental for a day adn can I pick it up at the resrt I am staying at (All Star Movie)? Thanks for any info on this!

National/Alamo are the on-site rental car companies at WDW. They have a location at the MK Car Care Center & also at the Swan(or Dolphin?). You can get a complimentary shuttle from your resort to the rental location & it's best to arrange this ahead of time. Check out MouseSavers.Com for any possible deals and readily accessible car-rental locations. One thing to remember is that sometimes a rental is cheaper if you rent for a longer period of time(rather than just one day)...sounds odd, but it's happened to me, so I know it's true.

We've rented cars from L&M rentals. They are a Florida car rental company and we have found that for midsized and fullsize cars they seem to be the cheapest. They are right on site. They have a website also but I can't remember what it is. I know there is a link to their web site on the official Orlando International Airport web site.

So I could get up early early and and pick up the car at MK or Dolphin and then drive back to my place to get everybody else? That may work out best. If I am driving to the airport how long do you think that would take? This will be on a Sunday.
