Best camera for WDW

I get it! I always have my phone with me but sometimes I want my actual camera. I have a Canon SX740.. love that thing. It has plenty of options if you wanna use the manual settings. The zoom is amazing. I like having a camera I can still put in my pocket

My dad just got a Canon SX740 this past week and it is a nice camera. I did have not much time with it, but is a lower cost option compared to the Sony RX100 series.

I carry my Sony 6400 (same weight as your 6600) with the 18-135. It's the lightest DSLR I've owned. If you want good pics why not take a good camera that you already have?

Mainly because I do not want to carry it around all day and worry about keeping up with it/damaging it on rides.

I mentioned the Canon SX720 upthread, and it looks like yours is about 2.5 years newer than mine. They went 720 (2016), 730 (2017), and 740 (2018). A couple differences look like yours is much better in lower-light situations and it also has 4k video option.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade mine. :rotfl:

We either bring my wifes Canon Rebel or my Canon 7D. The 7D is bigger and heavier, but the lenses and camera easily fit in my backpack.
As we go twice a year, I find we bring the big camera to the parks a little less often, but still several days a week.

Same here. The Canon R come out 2-3 times during our stay when we’re more having leisure days and getting some pics, or going to parties and shows

I was going to say something similar. Brought my A6600 to Disney World/Disneyland and the pictures were gorgeous/sharp. The 16-50mm lens is compact and relatively cheap, but the pictures were still stunning. I would recommend bringing it in a body case and you won't need to be as concerned about dinging it.

Was thinking of bringing my Canon R5 on my upcoming trip, but it's definitely not as compact/versatile as one of the Sony Alpha series.

I think I originally had the 720 too but upgraded to the 740 a couple years ago... gets great pics!

I would take my Canon 6D with a small prime lens if I was wanted to go light. I'm having shoulder issues and still plan to bring the good camera on our upcoming trip. The difference in image quality is astounding.

I have thought about picking up a cheap 16-50 lens second hand to bring along with the A6600, but still debating carrying the big camera around all day. More than likely if I did bring the a6600 along and into the parks, it would be in the evenings which is when the sensor would be much better than the iPhone for low light.

Thats basically what I do with the bigger camera. Just bring it at nights/parties for the low light shots. Occasionally bring it throughout the day, but that is rare. Daily shooter in the parks is my iPhone and Canon G7xMiii.

You must be a super light/efficient packer then! The A6600 was considered extremely small and light to me - I guess that's what happens when you transition from 3-4 lenses and a DSLR at each park!

With a DLSR camera, the biggest thing is carrying the weight all day. I found that replacing the normal single strap with a dual shoulder binocular strap spreads out the weight and is comfortable to carry all day.

I have taken my Olympus TG-4 on my last couple of trips. I love it. It is small and light, but has a couple of small lenses that can be used for it. Its also drop proof and fully water proof. I took some amazing pictures in the water at discovery cove.

One of these days I will learn how to program my own settings. But for now I will stick with the presets. They take good enough pictures for scrapbooking.

Yeah, my greatest beef with a DSLR and a single strap is how it bounces off your chest as you're hustling from place to place. I would put it away, but I want to be able to capture spur of the moment photos!
