Best building to stay Port Orleans Riverside

We will be staying at POR in October and I was wondering which would be the best building to request.

We stayed twice in Building 14 and loved it. It's the closest building to the food court, but the way the grounds are set up, it's not loud or noise because of it. We liked being able to refill our coffee cups quickly, without a long walk. We were also very close to a bus stop, which was important to us.

You should think about what your needs are, like do you want to be near a bus stop, or near the pool, or near the food court?

Here is some more information which might be helpful. DW, DD, DSiL, and I will be coming for just Friday thru Sunday (12-14 Oct.) for my big 50 :cool1: . DD is coming down from college for the weekend. Instead of alot of my friends ragging on me at a party, I wanted to just celebrate at DISNEY with my family. Requested a water view room. We have been to Disney numerous times and we have a schedule made up. This time of the year is a first for us. Will the parks be crowded. If so which bus stop is a good one to be by.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the stuff at the bottom of my message?

My favorite is Magnolia Terrace (bldg 85). It's very close to the East Depot bus stop (which is way more quieter than the Main Bus Stop, way more isn't even strong enough to describe how much quieter it is - and this is a benefit). It is also very close to the pool and main building. It's just a bridge to the pool and then another bridge to the main bldg. I think it's the best location at the resort.

Also, if you requested a water view, you may want to specifically request a river view. You also may want a Mansion since most AB water view rooms are of a pool. There are some along the river, but i think the river is prettier by the Mansions. There are also pool view rooms in the Mansion, so when you check in, poliely say "I would really like a river view in Magnolia Terrace if possible" If they have it, they will (most likely) give it to you. If not, they will find a river view in another building. I have had no problems at POR getting what I asked for at check in.

Good luck deciding and have a great time. You'll love POR.

Thank you for the help with the signature problem. It sounds like Magnolia Terrace is a good location to stay. I like a the idea of the east depot being behind the building. Everything does look very close, right over the bridge.

I second Bldg 14. We went there in June and still it was very quiet and serene. We had a waterview room on the first floor that was awesome. We were right next to the busstop, marina, foodcourt and main bldg. It really helped since we have 2 small children to not have to walk too far to get back to our room from a long day at the parks.

Parterre Place was very nice. It is in the mansions and very close to everything. About a 3-4 minutes walk to bus and food court and 5 minutes to main pool and 1 minute to quiet pool.
If you want to see pics just let me know.

We went in 2004 and originally were in the Alligator Bayou, building 26... but my parents who we travelled with paid for an upgrade (before we travelled) to stay in building 85, Magnolia Terrace. We didn't realise they would be so far away so Disney were great and moved us all over (6 in party in total) to building 85. It was close enough to the main food courts etc. but without being too too close if you know what I mean!

We had rooms on the ground and 1st floors and they were all lovely - would def. recommend them over the Alligator Bayou rooms - they were quite dark which we didn't like.

Totallly agree, we had a nice stay at Magnolia Terrace too. It was just a few minutes to get anywhere and the East Depot was so nice and very quiet in the mornings. There is a quiet pool right there too and that was pretty empty.

DH & I really liked building #38 in AB. Would have also liked #s 14 18 27. They all looked pretty good to me. Didn't really check out the mansions. Guess I'll have to do that on the next trip in 50 days!!!!

We have usually gotten Bldg. 24 (AB) and love it. It is a fairly long trek to the Riverside Mill but the grounds are so beautiful we don't mind the walk. But if we wanted to use the bus there is a bus stop really close to this building. And since the building is kinda in the back it always makes it feel more secluded and we've never had any problem with finding parking.

I won't go with a water view - it isn't worth the extra money. POR has a strange idea of what a water view - to them fountains (which you also get with the standard view) are water views.

Not worth it.

besides with Building 85 - my favorite - you want to be in the middle - so about the same time to the food court or bus stop.

the first year I took my brother and his family - he wanted to know why I didn't get a room closer to the food court, then after walking to the bus stop he wanted to know why I didn't get closer to the bus stop.

I think most people who stay at POR go for a standard view so I am taking my chance on AB with river view, as there are 5 of us I know we will be placed in AB- my favorite section.:goodvibes

I have ask this on another thread, just hoping to get some more advise

Would you request Magnolia Terrace or Oak Manor? Some threads stated that the buses are slow for POR. Is October very busy? Would you use east depot or north/main building depot.

Sorry to ask some of the same questions, only trying to make up our minds.

can anyone tell me which of the mansions have a quiet pool beside it. we have a waterview, mansion requested. i would realy like to be facing a quiet pool instead of the river. any ideas on which mansion i should request specifically, or is what i have above enough info until i get to check in?
