best budget transport?

Can anyone tell me the best budget way to and from MCO to a Port Canaveral hotel? Rental car? Taxi? A hotel with a shuttle included? I am not sure of the distance, so I can't get this straight in my head which is the best cost-effective way to get us to and from the airport.

From my initial research, you have to pick and choose which things are included (i.e. breakfast, free parking at the port, etch). Or, is the best budget way to find a hotel that gives you everything in one price?

Your most economical mode of transportation from MCO to the port area is likely a rental car. We had an intermediate for less than $50 total (including taxes, fees, etc.). Obviously, that may vary depending on the size of your travel party.

You are correct that you really do have to research what will work best for your family -- hotel rate, free breakfast, shuttle or parking, etc. A "one-size-fits-all" isn't really available. I've found that generally getting everything included just bumps up the price more than doing each part individually, though you may find a hotel package that fits your budget and includes everything. It basically comes down paying for convenience of all included or less expensive.
