Where would you recommend staying for Disneyland? Obviously, Grand California, but not wanting to break the band and we really are not in our rooms very much.

Look at some threads on the Disneyland forum and than ask any remaining questions you have. Lots of expertise! This forum is focused mostly on WDW onsite hotels.

Hi. I don’t know how to link another thread but I asked for help while ago with close hotels (not specifically budget, but they’re all budget compared to GCH! 😉). There are some great suggestions there. If you search for “off-site help please” under my name, you should find it. Or someone who knows how could maybe paste the link?

Good luck! This is a great forum with wonderfully helpful people!

I like the Best Western Anaheim Plus Inn across from the harbor entrance. It's a 2 minute walk and they have a hot breakfast.

My favorite Harbor hotel is Candy Cane Inn, which is about a 10 minute walk. They have a breakfast, too. I'm not sure if they're considered budget, though.

The resort hotels do have discounts sometimes, so depending on your dates you might be able to get a better price for the Grand, DLH or Pixar Place.

I can't think of them as budget anymore. I keep wanting to try them out post-refurb, but the last few times I priced them out I got rates in the vicinity of $300 per night for a standard room. Of course, I wasn't looking at what would be considered a non-peak time of year if that exists anymore, but I also wasn't looking at Christmas or New Year's either.

I'm a big fan of the Desert Palms -- it backs up to the Candy Cane Inn, doesn't require crossing either Harbor or Katella but is convenient to CVS/Walgreens/7-Eleven if needed.

Includes robust hot and cold breakfast choices with views into California Adventure from the 5th floor breakfast room/patio.

Only downside is the parking fee, but that only applies if you drive, obviously.

Alpine Inn is around a 10-minute walk to the gate. Its prices are reasonable and the room is comfortable with free parking. Castle Inn is fine too. I thought the room at Kings Inn was a bit tiny.

I love Candy Cane Inn but it is not a budget hotel.

My favorite budget hotel in the Disneyland vicinity is Majestic Gardens. It's not across the street, but they their own dedicated shuttle that picks up at the front of the hotel, and drops off at the transportation plaza. It's like an 8-ish minute ride each way. The reasons it's my go-to: $130-140/night when booked directly, clean property, beautiful resort feel, huge rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff, interior corridors. Sometimes I'll pay $20 more a night for an upgraded room, which is even bigger, with a couch, chair, coffee table. It's generally fairly quiet, though if you have a connecting room, it's less so. I've stayed at 9 motels in the area (Fairfield, Tropicana, Park Vue Inn, Desert Inn, Legacy Grand, Stovall's, King's Inn, Discovery, and Majestic) and since I tried Majestic, I haven't gone anywhere else.
