Best Breakfast in Orlando?

Our waitress at Perkins was excellent - she even tried to make decent tea (instead of bringing out warm water and tea bags!), and the kids each got a huge sugar cookie to take away (yummy!) - you can also buy cakes and cookies to take away for later. IHOP is also excellent. We enjoyed Cracker Barrel for evening meal, didn't try breakfast so can't comment.

One thing I love about Cracker Barrel is the REAL maple syrup they serve with their pancakes!

Perkins is sweet, breakfeast is a treat in a restauarant that's great value to!

Here`s a second for Dennys grand slam, we always go to the one opposite old Town...(It was open 24 hours,dont know if it still is), which was great when the kids were getting us up at 5.00am....Just us and a few other Brits in there on a different time zone LOL

We also like Perkins and IHOP but a big big thumbs up goes to The Village Inn on Westwood Boulevard down near Seaworld, Brilliant Service and super food.

I was going to say Renaissance Sunday Brunch, which is absolutely incredible and rivaled only by La Coquina at Grand Cypress. But the OP was asking about 'typical American breakfast', which those are not!

Perkins and Denny's are very much the typical 'American' breakfast-style spots and while they are not exactly upscale, I wouldn't call them dumps. They're standard diner style spots with good, reliable menus. IHOP isn't a real favourite 'round here, but it's along the same lines. Basic fare and lots of it.

If forced to choose one, it would be Perkins. Or maybe Denny's.

For what we consider the full American breakfast experience, with waitress service, unlimited coffee refills, a full inquisition on what kind of eggs you want (LOL!), the following list is fairly comprehensive right now:

Dennys
Perkins (our joint fave)
Bob Evans (likewise!)
Cracker Barrel
Friendlys
IHOP
Waffle House
First Watch
Toojays

The following are all buffet breakfast alternatives (good value but not quite so authentic):

Ponderosa
Shoneys
Black Angus
Golden Corrall (our top choice of the buffets)
Sweet Tomatoes (Sunday only but brilliant for lunch and dinner every day)
Whistle Junction Buffet & Grill (Sat and Sun only)
(To the best of our knowledge, the Sizzler chain stopped doing breakfasts last year)

Other choices serving breakfast that are also worth trying are:

Panera Bread
The B-Line Diner (inside the Peabody Hotel - one of our all-time faves)
East Lake Fish Camp (yes, the rather rustic cafe here serves some of the best breakfasts in town!)
Atlanta Bread Company (a relatively new chain, similar to Panera)
Shakers American Cafe (downtown Orlando)

All the Disney resorts also do an excellent breakfast service (one of our faves is the Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge, served family-style, while O'Hana at the Poly and Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge are both highly recommended), while the Hyatt Grand Cypress offers the most spectacular Sunday brunch, with the Renaissance Resort Orlando not far behind (when their buffet re-opens in the New Year).

When did Sizzler stop their breakfast buffet? We ate breakfast in the one on 192 in September and they were just putting their price down the next day to $3.99 shame we were flying home that day

A good question, I have seen a few recently where this has happened, mostly (no discrespect intended) by newly registered members.
A couple I saw were over 2 years old.

Don't recall saying it was! Maybe the fact I first posted on this thread on the 6th April has clouded my judgement here

Anyway since then I have tried breakfast at Spoodles on Disney's Boardwalk which was very nice and I would recommend it (now we are now back on thread subject).
