The family we are traveling with would like to go to a great breakfast buffet our first morning. We would prefer no characters since that increases the price dramatically and we are all on a budget. We have hopper passes and a car (but want to remain on site) so park or resort is fine.

Any recommendations for a great buffet for breakfast????

Thanks!

I am not a fan of buffets. So the fact that I tried and absolutely loved the breakfast buffet at AKL on the dining plan last month says a lot.

And of course the princesses were banned from the premises!!!! Just kidding princess lovers.....

I agree with lisaviolet, Boma at AKL has a very good breakfast buffet.

Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness is a good buffet at a great price. It is very inexpensive compared to lots of other buffets. We went this past Dec. and thoroughly enjoyed it. They had eggs, biscuits, sausage, bacon, donuts, hash, gravy, fruit, juice, coffee. I'm sure I am leaving some off, but that's all I remember off hand. Traditional breakfast fare.

We also went to AKL and had breakfast at Boma's. It was really good with no characters. I really didn't see that much difference in price from the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. It was 15.99 at Boma and 17.99 at 1900 Park Fare where Winnie the Pooh and Tigger are. I also liked the food better at the 1900 Park Fare but that is just my opinion....Boma's breakfast was very good. Both have made to order omelets which is a plus.

Fresh in the Dolphin, and Boma in AKL are our two favorite breakfast buffets. You don't say where you are staying so one may be easier to get to.

Boma has a little more selection and a few unusual items in a more decorated setting so may impress more.

Fresh has nice selection and quality food, and you can walk around the boardwalk area before or after, and if MGM or Epcot are your park of choice that day you can walk or take the boat after.

So how many breakfast buffets without characters are there?
Answer: There are only four, and three of them have already been mentioned: Boma, Fresh, Trails End.

So last place goes to .....
Maya Grill at Coronado Springs!

BOMA is AWESOME for breakfast- I'm eating there in 10 days!! :cool1:

When I made my ps, the CM said "OH my gosh, I LOVE Boma for b-fast. You made a good choice!"

You're forgetting the Garden Grove at the Swan. They have characters there on Saturday, but not the rest of the week. Again, depending on where you are staying, this might be a good choice. It's a quick jump over to Epcot from there.
WE ate there on a non-character day. It was nice. It was relatively quiet, so a nice break from the noise. The server was quite attentive and rather friendly. She brought lots of fresh squeezed orange juice. I don't recall any other knockout food items, but we all enjoyed the food. Overall it was quite good. I'm pretty sure they had pastry, fruit, bread. I think they had eggs and meat to order. I seem to recall someone bringing it to the table for us - so either we ordered that part of the meal, or maybe they had an omelette station, and they brought it to us when it was done.

We've never been to BOMA so maybe we'll try that this trip. Characters or no characters, CRT is still a MUST DO! Not for the characters but for the castle and the to die for french toast! PLEASE tell me it hasn't changed!

here's another vote for boma!!! i loved it. the special fruit juice they serve is fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely and it's a great chance to check out the AKL, which is such a gorgeous resort. there was a ton of food and it was consistently good the both times i ate there.

I dream of that special fruit juice :cloud9: , it is the nectar of the gods. :drinking1

While it is not a buffet, I would like to mention Spoodles. They have an all you can eat platter at breakfast. The french toast is the best I have ever had. I belive you can order an omelet as part of the platter, too. It is often less crowded and hectic then the buffets.

As far as buffets go, we enjoy Boma alot.

Also, there's the breakfast at WCC at WL. They have the all you can eat skillet for breakfast. The resort is beautiful, so that would be another good choice.

Somewhere else, Kona's was mentioned, but this is probably not a buffet. Any help on that one, or is Boma's still the top choice? Do you need ADR's for Boma's (and Kona's)?
We will have no children with us and I wanted to do one nice breakfast. Thanks.
