Just bumping up. Back from the Sheraton Sand Key! I have to say it is a very lovely resort. However, we were a little disappointed in the room, as we thought it should be a little more upscale for the money paid. However, the beds and pillows were very, very comfortable and it was reasonably clean.
We had a beach/pool view room with a balcony, a great view! You are right on the ocean, but further back, as the beach is a very large area.
The pool, although not very large, is like a tropical oasis with the tiki bar and all of the palm trees. It was great just sitting around there and having frozen margaritas! At some times during the day it was a little crowded.
As far as location, not many would have this one beat. Such a nice quiet area, white sandy beach, very clean, and beautiful sunsets from our balcony!
The Pier 60 festivities was a short drive and we loved the concert and the beautiful sunset from there as well.
I would be interested to know how the Sandpearl worked out for those that stayed there. Might have to look into that one for next time.
