We love a good beach day! What are your favorite beach excursions for Tortola & St. Thomas? Will just be my husband and I for this cruise! Thanks in advance!

On Tortola, on the north side of the island is Cane Garden Bay and is really beautiful. You can rent a taxi or get there via the “Island Drive and Beach Break (TT11)” excursion.

When in Tortola we hop on over to Jost Van Dyke. Dreamy beach. For St. Thomas we like Magens Bay. Bring the snorkel for sea turtles.

If going in the warmer summer months be aware you might encounter Sea Butterflies at Magen's Bay. The feel like pieces of fiberglass and they don't sting but they do feel like sharp fibers stuck to you.

In St Thomas 2 weeks ago we did a private jeep excursion with St Thomas Scuba and Snorkel. We were gone 5 hours, went to 2 snorkeling spots. the first was the sea turtle spot and while we saw 2 a weather front had kicked up a lot of sand so visibility was poor. So our driver pivoted and we went to another spot on the other side of the island which was over a reef and fabulous (though no turtles). We also went to an overlook over Magens Bay and went to a deserted beach (literally there were 3 other people there). It was great! We saw so much more and had more flexibility than the ship excursion. It was $400 for the 3 of us so not much more expensive than the snorkel excursions offered.

For St. Thomas, we are still talking about how much we enjoyed the Secret Sands excursion (ST57) to Lindquist Beach from our last eastern cruise a couple of years ago.
I second this excursion, just did it the first week of March and it was gorgeous. Beach Express TT68 in Tortola was also just as gorgeous. TheTimTracker did videos on both of these which made me choose them and they did not disappoint.

Do either of these beaches have a strong surf/ undertow? I saw the Tim Tracker videos and they looked very calm. My husband has a neuromuscular disease and has a hard time walking into the water if there is a strong undertow or breaking waves. Thank you for your help!

It was very calm when I was there too like the videos, I think the only "waves" we got were from boats passing by. I assume that could change based on wind and time of year though.
