We are taking a family trip which includes a 16-month-old. Everyone else is an adult (or at least I think they are ! :rotfl: )

What are some of the things your 1 year old (plus a few months) enjoys at each/any of the parks?

DH and I have been numerous times and so I have a general idea, but those of you with small ones may have some better ideas. Please share.

We're taking our DGC next week, so I'll have a better idea then. I hope someone can help you out if you're trip is sooner.

I've been listening to Disney Music, and I'm all ready to go on It's A Small World, many many times if I have to. I understand that's a hit with kids. We'll have a 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3 1/2 yr. old with us. I don't think we can go wrong with Peter Pan. That was their DDad's favorite when he was 2 1/2!

Bobbi :)

Too many things to list :)

There's a lot to do - Tiki Birds, Jungle Cruise, IASW, Peter Pan, Pooh, Philharmagic (love that one!), Carousel, Pirates, etc. Our kids weren't spooked by anything, even at that age. :) All of Toon Town, of course.

Plus pretty much everything at MGM. Animal Kingdom was a bust for us.

MK has Country bears, small world, pooh, there's also a pooh playground, buzz, Peter pan, dumbo. Epcot has Mexico, figment. MGM has playhouse disney, mermaid. AK has lion king.

We just returned from a trip with a 16 month old (daughter)!

She enjoyed:

Air Conditioning
Shade
Country Bear Jamboree
Carousel of Progress
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Its a Small World
Haunted Mansion (I only put this because she fell asleep on it twice, so she couldn't have hated it too much)
Reflections of China
Spaceship Earth (rode it 3 times. Didn't like it as much at first, but warmed up to it.)
El Rio del Tiempo
Muppetvision*
Fantasmic*
Kilamanjaro Safaris
Festival of the Lion King
Any of the water play areas where the water comes out of the ground, like Donald's Boat in Toontown.

*She liked these for the most part, except when the volume was loud.

While she didn't seem to really enjoy most of the other dark rides, she also didn't have any crying episodes on them. She did want to talk all the way through the Walt Disney Story film at MGM, so I had to take her over by the exit and let her play so we wouldn't bother the other guests.

We just returned from travelling with a 14 month old and 16 month old - I think they both enjoyed the Tomorrowland Transit the most!!

Thanks for all the great responses !! You guys rock !! :rockband:

since this will be her first (but not her last !!) trip to WDW, I don't have any indication of her "fear" factor yet. We'll take it slow. She is an easy kid, except when she is sleepy/tired. And I'm sure her days and nights will revolve around her and her schedule. there are 7 adults going and her. Not a bad ratio.

Any other suggestions?? We are going in Nov. so I'm hoping the "air conditioning and shade" aren't at the top of our list.

I've taken both my kids at that age, and these were the biggest hits:

MK:
It's a Small World - be prepared to do it over and over!
Pooh
Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Haunted Mansion
Carousel
Buss Lightyear (my son was a bit scared because it is dark)
DUmbo
Magic Carpets
Country Bear Jamboree

EPCOT:

El Rio de Tiempo
The ride where you go up in the big ball (can't remember it's name)
Living Seas pavillion

MGM:

Playhouse Disney Live
(Both kids thought the Muppet movie was way too loud - they wailed)

Animal Kingdom:

They liked looking at the animals in the walking area
Dinosaur ride that is like the Dumbo ride
(My son HATED It's Tough to Be a Bug - way too loud.)

Thanks for the reminder "mom" ! We've been mostly in the fall and it is usually warm enough for shorts. Maybe we'll even swim. Hadn't thought of that.
I think she will like the parades also, not the wait, but the parade itself.
Opinions ??

And she loves animals, so I'm hoping she will like the animals at AK. Her folks and grandparents have never been to AK so I know it is on our list of things to do.
