Chapter 14: Disneydad's New Obsession



OK so we last left off with the OCD Packing Plan
....& a Little game in between
but as promised (ok sharkey it was 10pm)
...on with the New Obsession......

Yes thats right Evil Disneydad
has started collecting Disney Pins
....& has become an Official Pin Trading Fanatic...



Now as you can see above I only have a few pins so far...
Well the Kids have taken some Pins & have them on their own Lanyards...
So I guess really this has become a Whole Family Obsession...

Last year we were at Epcot (in Sept.)
& I guess they were testing a Year of a Million Dreams
because as we walked into the park w/ me pushing Elese' around in the Wheelchair...
a CM stopped us & started talking with us & told us they were starting
A Year of A Million Dreams & He Gave Anna 2 Identical Cinderella Pins...
1 for Her to Keep & one to give away.....

Now this started the most fun adventure that we have had in a while...
trying to find a little Girl...
that we felt like giving a Pin to would Brighten Her Day...

So we searched Hi & Low....

Whilst Riding rides & seeing the sites & lo & behold we found her

I was in line waiting to get a Mickey Head Bar for Elese' & noticed a Young Family w/a little Girl who had a broken arm....
I yelled for Anna to come over
& asked her if she wanted to give the Pin to Her....
Of course she said yes so the challenge began...

Trying to convince this Family that...
we were not a bunch of crazy people was tough....
but finally they agreed & this little girl who.....
had not smiled the whole time...started to smile & then Laugh..
It was an awesome thing for our family to experience....

And it started an obsession that in the end...
will Probably cost Disneydad a fortune!!!!!

So I am hoping You guys can help me out!!!

Is it a good Idea to buy a bunch of Pins on Ebay & take them to trade with in WDW?

I mean has anyone done this & can you really trade them or is it a bunch of hooey!!!


.....Well W/Disneydad you Know that it is not possible to have just one obsession.....so thats right This is a 2 for one Special!!!


The second Obsession is.......that's right I love looking for Hidden Mickey's....It is so bad that when DS(11) Drew wanted to buy a Hidden Mickey Guide...& DisneyMom was like are you sure...I convinced Her that he really needed it...& eventually got to carry it around myself...& now he does "own it" BUt I control it ....Heee HEEE===HEeeee.... yes Evil Disneydad can show up anywhere...I will say that Drew obsesses over them as much as I do & he loves going through Ride lines just to find the Hidden Mickey's mentioned in the Book!!!!!

Ok so there are No Hidden Mickey's in this photo...But we must continue to point out that Disneydad Is Evil & has Admirers!!!

My best deal yet was to buy "clearance" pins at the Disney store and then trade them at the parks.
This past trip, I bought BA some trader pins, with the "understanding" that she was only able to trade with who I told her to! (aka--potential dream members!) I have found that a 10 year old gets a much better response than adults or teens!

She got the YOMD Tinkerbell pins, but we kept the other one cause we have 2 kids.

I think I saw your Hidden Mickey book in another pic--I have that book too! I have found that the cast members are quick to point them out if you carry the book!

Umm you can use me as a referral for DVC and just to clear...I am doing this completely out of the goodness of my heart (the referral fee I would get has nothing to do with it )

And if you and Nebo end up in rooms next to each other, I am betting TE's farm that your trip reports will end up posted on America's Most Wanted instead of the Dis.

Knock Knock...where ya at I have posted a new update & you have not noticed!!!!!

Woops.....My phone rang last nice and one of my fellow princesses wanted to go to the movies and she had free passes, how does one say No to that?? Not me for sure

My King agreed to watch our little prince, with no fight at all, and off I went to the movies to see Knocked Up!!

The movie broke during the previews....took about 10 mins, but they got it back up.

Then, half way thru the movie, the darn sound started going on and off.

We stuck it out and when it was over, we got anothe free pass for our inconvenience!!


Okay....I have heard it is fine to purchse a lot of cheap crap Disney pins with the real back on it, off of ebay and trade away at Disney.

I would give them to the cute little kiddies, to trade with Dream Members.

Meeksamouska, had her daughter trade with s Dream Member, and she picked this Minnie Mouse pin wearing a laynard and it had a special yellow back on it, I believe. She has picked the dream pin and got to pick a free snack for the entire party.... . Good Luck!!!

Hidden Mickeys....that looks like fun...but do you have room for another Ocd???

I could see where that would be addicting........I think I would have to spend a half day just doing that........would be fun.....

It was a regular movie theater...smarty aleck... I am way to young for those old fashioned movie theaters....don't remember them, do you??

That would be so awesome to get a night in the castel...are you sure you want it for your daughters or it more for you???


I would love to tour the kingdom with OCD Disneydad and his troop...I am sure it would be a HOOT.....
