Not until he has a sufficient amount of significant seizures so they can get a good reading of exactly what part of the brain they are coming from. They have to all be centralized in one location and if that is the case, then they can schedule him for surgery for removal of those brain cells.

No word yet Sarah, thank you. It's going to take some time until he is totally off his meds and they get him to have enough significant seizures to gauge where they are coming from. Thanks for asking!

Yes Nicki works in the city. When she got laid off and got this new job she started in NJ but that was just for training, her actual job location is in Philadelphia so she can run at lunch and visit hime.

So, they just take out the brain cells that are causing the seizures? Sounds too simple to be true. Can it be just brain cells that cause seizures?

You're allowed to freak out a little bit as long as you pull it together when you need to. I hope this is going to be the answer for you. I can't even imagine what you've been going through.

I know I won't. I always freak out at the last minute when I'm laying there in the hospital bed all hooked up to IVs and stuff with nowhere to go. That's when I really want to just get the heck out of there. I have to start remembering to do what I did when I had to have my MRI. I went to my "happy place." Which was, of course, the Magic Kingdom.

Just the thought of somebody messing around inside my brain completely freaks me out. But I guess if Sharky's DB and QM's DS can go through what he's going through, my surgery ought to be a breeze, right?

From what I understand it's a portion of the brain where the seizures activity is. As long as all the seizures come from the same section of the brain, that is. If they are scattered from various portions they can't do a thing. Now the problem is he's had this before and he's had the surgery where they removed the portion of his brain that supposedly was causing the seizures. After that surgery his seizures got much worse and he's lost a portion of his memory. Now I'm scared that if they do this again and take even more brain tissue / cells and it doesn't work again what else will he lose? I just want this to work and then it is worth the risks. He has to be awake during any brain surgery so they can ask him questions, he was last time too, they need to ask him to speak, they quiz him about things, ask him to move an arm a leg, etc. That way they know they aren't messing with a portion of the brain he can not do without.

Maybe you can get them to pipe in disney music, they do pipe music in for the surgeons so mayve you can get them to make it a disney theme! Don't panic, take deep breaths and let them do their thing and make you well.
