When riding EE, ask for the very back. Then as you're going up the steep incline, lean over to your left and look way out behind you..you can see the Contemporary and part of the MK in the distance! It's even cooler to do it at night! We did it at night this past trip and even caught Wishes going off!

Any tips on riding the Safari while being 9 weeks pregnant?!?! I am really stuck on this one, I have ridden on it many times before... but I am terrified to ride it with the warning on it, but I also don't want to miss it with the rest of my family. :confused3

Safari: On your opening of must see attractions you have the Safari listed for newbies and kids. It's one of our favorite attractions in all of Disney. Never the same trip twice. Some have been definitely better than others, but it's all in the timing! (Early morning, late afternoons - skip middle of day when it's too hot and the animals are trying to find some cool in the shade).

Kali River Rapids: to keep socks/sneakers, etc. dry, bring enough plastic grocery bags (# of people, X2). Once seated, slip one on each foot & wrap & tie around ankles. Works great - bags take up little room until needed. If you plan on going again later - keep the bags, putting wet side to wet side, etc., folding up neatly & tucking away for the next time. :thumbsup2

It's Tough to be a Bug: we went last year with our grown children. Husband and I had done EE the previous trip, and decided to skip it this year - husband's back was acting up - so told kids to go onto EE, and we'd meet them by the exit of ITTBAB. Who knew they should have a warning for people with back problems. When the bugs decided to begin the attack on the audience, my husband jolted when the bug apparantly attacked from the back! Not a fun thing, when we're thinking this could be a great break!

EE: I found going up the steep outdoor incline very intense! - to the point I was staring at the guys head in front of me so intently, I missed the Yeti @ the beginning! The rest of the ride moves so quickly, you literally don't know if you're coming or going. I enjoyed that part.

Sorry that it's been a few months since this question was asked but I thought I'd give it a try for anybody else if you decide it's safe to do this ride - sit up front and middle. The very back feels like the shocks are purposely gone and there's quite a bit of jostling there, but close to the guide I think is a smoother ride. May not have as good as view though.

I find sitting on the left side I saw a lot more going on than the right.

Depending on your camera I've had to put the camera on fast action or on the multiple photo shots by holding the button down to get any decent shot- the vehicle moves fast and doesn't stop long enough. If you take the last safari at the end of the day you'll have a little longer time to be able to take shots but the ride does provide a lot of blurry shots if you're not careful.

Let CM's know if your or a family member is thinking about working with animals. My ds was 7 last year and talked it up about how he wants to be a zookeeper. He is really serious and already knows quite a bit about animals. The cm suggested he talk to the head zoo keeper that day and directed us as to where he might be. Several other cm helped until finally he was reached and said he could meet in about 30 min. DS got to help measure food for the birds at the station then the zookeeper came by and explained what his job really involved, what education he would need and that he would need to start helping with big animals while in high school or he would have a very slim chance of ever getting a job. The experience was priceless! The CM's at AK are really awsome!

Thanks for sharing this. Very cool!

Alright I've got some newbie questions that I think might be best answered here.

-My sister really wants to see the fruit bats on the walking Jungle Trek. Do we have to walk all the way through this to get to the bats that are supposed to be at the end? Or can we skip everything else?

- AK is supposed to be the biggest park of all. Are you really expected to walk everywhere or are there shortcuts/easier ways to get around (ie MK train, Epcot boats, etc.) I didn't see a transit or boat anywhere on the maps.

Any info anyone might have on this is greatly appreciated!

19. Bug holes - While on the Discovery Island Trails, look for a hidden, shaded rock. In the rock are several small holes that appear to have been bored by bugs. Peep through these holes and each homes in on one or more specific animal carvings on the Tree of Life.

Where exactly is this?
