Best Animal Kingdom Guide - Best Tips, tricks, Must do's, Please Contribute!!!

Hi! I consider myself to be fairly Disney savvy ;), and I haven't yet heard about the dining packages that include preferred seating for Nemo. Can anyone share info? Thanks :thumbsup2

If you make Lunch ADRs at Tusker House between 1:00pm and 1:40pm you get reserved tickets for teh 3:15 Nemo show.

It is probably a marketing ploy to increase late TS Lunches and to fill up the 3:15 Nemo show because guests may skip the show to get spots for the Parade.

I think you can make both the show and the Parade, but you won't have prime seats for the Parade.

I don't know if it includes the Y&Y but I will check

I called today and the Nemo Lunch ADR's are only for the TH. The Y&Y is NOT part of the promotion.

I will start updating now

We love AK and you have listed some great tips!

The Donald safari breakfast was great and we also loved the food at Tusker House for lunch.

The parade is a must do for us. Lots of interaction with the characters and very catchy music.

If you want to see characters, be at Camp Minnie Mickey right when it opens ( 10 am??). The lines get long very quickly especially after a Lion King show gets out.

The whole family loved the LK show and we have seen it each trip, however we weren"t that thrilled with Nemo. Had seats way in the back and that may have been part of it.

Be sure to stop and talk to the cm's that have a little creature or a kids discovery area.

The theming in this park is wonderful and we find it a nice change of pace from the other parks.

Check out the book--The Imagineering Field Guide to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Lots of interesting facts and photos about the park. We bought our copy on amazon. There are guides for the other parks as well.

My first trip to WDW. My sister goes every year and she said they always eat lunch at Flame Tree. She said around noon if you sit by the river to eat some of the characters come down the river singing and dancing. Anyone know anything about that? Also I live in a city with the 3rd best zoo in the country which thank goodness is free. I'm there pretty much 3 -5 times a month so propably will skip a lot of the animal trails and such. Looking forward to FOL, Safari, and FOW though. This thread has been very helpful for sorting things out.:worship:

My daughter (then 3) loved It's Tough to Be a Bug. She sat on my mom's lap the whole time and she really enjoyed it. It was great because she didn't feel those bee stings and stuff.

She can't wait to do it again this year, but then again one of her favorite movies is Bug's Life.

However, DD isn't sure if she wants to do Haunted Mansion b/c that might be too scary...funny how kids are huh?

I didn't read through all the posts but wanted to say my can't miss snack is the chocolate cover frozen bananas rolled in peanuts. YUM!

Also use the single rider entrance for everest. It's usually (but not always) faster than the FP line.

Great post IMwink, you really did your homework. I copied your whole thread for all the tips. Thanks so much.

Wow-this is an awesome thread. I need one of these for each park! Leaving in 10 days!!:cool1::cool1:

I've gotten a bunch of great tips so far.

What are your favorite Animal experiences at AK?

Thanks

Just Checking In.

I don't have time to do any updates but maybe tomorrow I will.

Enjoy and keep the info coming.

Thanks

all of these tips are great!!! we are a first visit family, leaving in a week! You all just made my thoughts about AK completely different.
Thank you Thank you!

I am so sorry that work is keeping you from the important things in life, like Disney. Better luck tomorrow!

You are going to be one prepared family! This info is better than most guide books offer.

Some Major updates all over.

Added Characters, more attraction info, and EMH stuff.

I've had a total change about the parade. I was thinking of skipping it, but after seeing some pictures of the parade, I think that it is very different from the other parades and I am going to make sure I see it.

I may have to do some fast walking to do to make it, because we are going to the 3:15 Nemo and it doesn't let out until 3:45. and that is when the parade starts.

Does anyone know how much time it is for the Parade is from when the front of the Parade leaves the gate until the front of the parade reaches back around to the gate?

If everyone agrees I will add the parade to the Must-do list.

My dear IM, if you can get EVERYONE to agree to anything it will another first and I will greatly enjoy seeing it.:rotfl:

BTW, I love the parade as well. I do not like the MGM one much so a parade has to be something special for me to like it.
