Best Ages for BBB, Pirates League, Disney Girl princess tea?

DS never cared much for costumes or facepainting, but DD (age 3) adores both. She wears princess costumes any time I let her. She loves dressing up and getting her face painted. She loves having little tea parties with her dolls.

We go to WDW every year, so we can afford to wait for a "good age." What do people who have done it with little girls recommend as the best age/ages to try BBB? I know she could technically do it for our upcoming trip, and I think she'd enjoy the experience, but I'm inclined to think 3 is a little young. She doesn't wait well yet, and if they were running behind and she had to sit around and wait for more than about 20 or 30 minutes, I think she'd be terrible by the time she got taken in.

She is also fairly interested in mermaids and pirates, so I think she might enjoy Pirates League as well, particularly if she gets a sword to whack her brother with. It seems like it might be better for slightly older kids, but again, DS was never interested, so we've never tried it.

The My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess tea looks like something she would absolutely adore, but it also seems like it would be good for a slightly older child. What ages have been most successful for those of you who have tried it?

Am I missing any particularly good princess activities for young girls? (We already have meet and greets and character meals booked.)

We have taken our DD6 to BBB on each of our last 3 annual trips for Easter. This past April, she did BBB & PL. She said that next time she just wants to to PL/Mermaid.

You should expect a long wait at BBB. You'll check in, and then wait for someone to help pick out a dress, and then wait some more. This entire experience takes an hour, and then even longer of you do pictures.

PL is much quicker.

We do BBB at least once a year, and have since my DD8 was 3. She was not a patient child, and won't let me touch her hair - but she sat still for that 30 minutes like her life depended on it! :rotfl:

That being said - it can be a wait just to get into a salon chair. Book the earliest morning appointment there is, and you will be just fine. I have done it with both DD's - the second one on her actual 3rd bithday, and they both loved it.

I have not done pirates league, but we are planning that for our next trip (DD8, DD4), since we haven't tried it, and it looks very cute.

I did the perfectly princess tea with my older daughter when she was 5 1/2, and my personal opinion is that between 5-7 is the sweet spot for that one. It is a pretty long event, and is absolutely wonderful, but any younger and I think they might get impatient, and too much older and it's too "young" for them. Of course there will be exceptions, but I am waiting until DD4 is 6 to do that one with her (if she's even interested, she's more likely to want to do the pirates cruise or something if I gave her the choice.) I had a great time doing it with my older daughter though, and was a really nice mommy/daughter event.

whatever you decide will be super fun and memorable!
Enjoy!
