Oh well, Marsha I will be packing up my congrats until Monday then Oh heck, celebrate!!!! Two working from home days is enough to celebrate and Monday won't really count so I think we should start partying all weekend

Merry welcome back. Good thing you found the new B!!! It came in handy for today's riddle, eh? That teen boy insurance is a killer, isn't it? I remember when boys was a lot more than girls, everyone complained and guess what, girls is sky high now, also!! Sheesh. Most companies will give a (very slight) discount for keeping a good grade average, and he may decide to ge a job and help pay for it. Oh wait, he's a teen aged boy, that probably won't happen!!! J/K, he sounds like a very good kid!

E, no partying for me, I do the airport run tomorrow AM and again Saturday some time for the return, IF there is some type of job offer, we may drink the champaigne that's in the fridge. If not, we will wait till Tuesday and celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. Man, I have been married for more years than you have been alive!

Quick hello everyone! I am proud to report in that my team won our first softball game this morning. We play again at 11:45. SB is out there playing right now. I got to play right field and all I can say is thank goodness that no balls even came close to me! Here was my batting strategy after my first pathetic time up at bat - go for the walk. I ended up being 0 for 1 with 2 walks and 1 run scored. I'm hoping my strategy can hold me through the rest of the day.

I'll try to check in later.

Wow, physical activity!!! Good for you!!! I agree withthe walk strategy also. But the real question is, what does the UNIFORM look like? If you are wearing the Angel uniform, you will have no worries about how you look! The opposing team will probably forfeit due to the power of the Angels.

If you all wore the uniforms, it would make Angels in the Outfield a more enjoyable movie!

My van had trouble cranking yesterday morning. When I came home for lunch, it would not crank at all.

I called a co-worker to come pick me up and while there, I jumped it off. Since it was running, I just took it to a local tire place I use for work.

First they told me a new battery (expensive for my vehicle), then they said the battery did not fix it, that it was the alternator. They told me the alternator for this vehicle would be $345 and replacing the belt and labor would come up to $631

Since I have not seen an alternator that expensive before, I called someone who had worked on my car before. He works as a mechanic, but fixes cars on the side at his house. I did not call him originally because I had only let him work on my older car in the past since he did it on his time and I needed the van ASAP.

When he told me he would get me the alternator with a lifetime warranty installed for $360, I told the tire shop to put my old battery back in, charge it, and I would pick up my van.

I took it to his house and dropped it off. It was back at my home by the time I went to church last night.

It only needed a new battery after all.

Guess who I will use first from now on?

Marsha, no matter what, it sounds like you all will have reasons to celebrate sometime soon. I do hope the job offer comes through though.

L4, congrats on your softball win!!!! I hope you both keep on having fun today!!

Such a sweet kittie there... I so wish I could have more. I need to wait until Cleo is older though... she won't do well with a new kitten at this age. I figure when she is close to passing on, would be a good time to bring another one in. Kittens need love but they also run like crazy so I would have plenty of time to devote to Cleo, Gwen and then a little one. I think though I need to bring one in before Cleo passes on because Gwen is NOT good at being an only kit.

Oh boy... Alan!!!! I am sure though those uniforms would make it a more enjoyable movie And what a great mechanic you initially went to How terrible that they tried to do that for you. I think your friend there sounds like a good one to go to first from now on!

To go out today and enjoy some sunshine or to stay inside for lunch... don't know what to do...

Hey, I got an inquiry on the kitties! Nancy (sister with kits) will not give them up if they aren't adopted, she loves cats. She has Sarah, Callie (mommie cat) and the five kittens, she named the kittens, the sad looking one is Bebe and the other one is Charlotte. I don't know what she named the other 3! Someone on the CB is semi local to her and is interested. I think that Nancy's DH will be glad to see them all in new homes.

Alan, it is always something, isn't it? I know alternators are expensive, and the manufacturers put the voltage regulator inside them so if that dies, then you replace both at once, what a rip. Good thing you have a mechanic pal! If you need the services of BBKBs, just call, we will show up in force, and maybe in uniform!

Afternoon Angels!

Well, my team was awful. I didn't help much though. We lost our first 2 games so we are officially out of the tourny. It works out better since now I get to be in the air conditioning and LK is still out there in 94 degree weather! At least we got to wear shorts and a t-shirt today. Maybe LK and I should have worn the Angel shirts, we would have made some heads spin.

I haven't played on a baseball team since my one year of little league when I was in middle school.

Let's see, I got on base once all year when the pitcher hit me in the elbow

I played right field and wasn't exactly the MVP out there, either.
