Laura, love the hat. Hope you guys weren't wearing it when you got out the whipped cream. ;) Is it by chance for an arrow of light ceremony?

Sounds like the birthday was great! I want a piece of that cake. Yum! Aren't Steif bears the cutest things? I have a panda that I got in Germany.

Lorraine, I saw Nemo and it was wonderful. Our whole family loved it. We want to see it again. There were several ROTFL parts.

We got the film on both parts of two of the windows last night. It's a pain to work with with all the messy soap you have to spray on everything. DH made a little mistake in one spot, but I don't think anyone will ever notice. He got frustrated, so we stopped for the night. It looks SO good this morning! Tonight we'll do the two largest sections and it will be finished. Yay!

It did rain, but I was so tired that I slept anyway. I don't think it was particularly stormy. Just lots of rain. Good! Now I won't have to water the lawn this week.

Melissa, I love the cake, forgot to tell you. I think scratch and sniff would be a greart improvement to the WWW.

Great birthday haul. I'm thinking of getting a new 35mm camera, too. I have a good one, but it doesn't stay shut all the time, and I do love my digital, but sometimes it just gets in my feeble brain to take printed pictures. I would love to have a camcorder of some type, but I would never watch the movies, so I know better than to waste any $ there! Keep that Steif safe. My son had one and sold it in a yard sale, with out my permission
GRRRRR.

Hi Satine! Did you see DBF and do any movies this weekend?

Merry Melisa, we have film on all but our front windows, we had it done professionally a few years ago. We got the kind that is mirrored, so it reflects the light from the source, during the day it reflects out, at night it reflects in. It also is supposed to be the most % of light blocking and heat resistance. I can't tell you if it helps, we have a cathedral ceiling in out LR/DR and the sun shines on that part of the house all day. So it is hot hot hot anyway. We also keep the shades and blinds shut all day, anything to hepl. Our A/C is set at 77 and runs a lot, of course you don't get the heat for as long as we do! You probably will notice a difference, if not, have some one else do the dishes!!!!

I'm still trying to catch up....:teeth:

Happy Birthday Melissa!!!!!

Lorraine - What a bummer about the pool. Glad you were able to get a refund with no more grief. :(

I'm probably going to be scarce this week.....we have several games this week as well as school activities.

I went to the post office today & sent out my Angel box...it's going east:p
I also sent a loooong overdue package to Steph!
No time to say more....I'll be back later............

How cool is that???? Can't wait to get my maps.... :) Thanks Laura!

I've mowed the lawn twice, raked it once, planted all the annuals (think I might NEED some more) and cut back the hanging baskets.
Baseball tonight.....too buggy!!!
Catch you all later!

I have the box now for my Angel exchange. Still have a few more items to get.

OK, friends. I need your advice. I read this thread and it really struck me the wrong way and made me angry. Do you think I made a mean spirited response?? Should I go back and delete it?? A boutique!! My DH has an OFFICE, not a Boutique. It just made me so mad!!

Carol, you made an honest response. I don't think it was particularly mean spirited. You presented your point of view honestly. Unfortunately, most people don't have optical insurance and glasses are quite expensive. So you're probably going to hear different and not necessarily good or honest ways people try to save money.

Carol-I think that your response was completely appropriate. I would have responded the same way! {{hugs}}

Carol....I'll echo the angels' comments...it wasn't out of line, or inappropriate...I'd leave it as it is, and wouldn't delete it.

((((Hugs)))))

*don't make the angels get their uniforms on*

Carol, I would have been offended also. I still drive 45 minutes back to where I grew up so that I can go to the same eye doctor. I wouldn't feel right going to them and using up their time and then go elsewhere. {{{hugs}}} for you.

looks like this weekend for date with DBF and box might be out next week(just have to finish it)

Carol.....not out of line at ALL!!! I think that sometimes we need to put out gentle reminders that there is ALWAYS another side (or person) to consider when we speak so freely in an open forum......you did just that!

I HAVE optical insurance (which restricts where I can have exams/purchase glasses, etc.) but I CHOOSE to continue dealing with my private doctor and eyewear provider, and am CERTAIN that in the long run, the service that they provide me when I need emergency visits.....repairs (at no extra costs to me) replacement parts (again at no extra cost to me) saves me more $$$$ in the end than the insurance would reimburse me if I were to change my place of doing business!! Also - when my insurance changed, I let my optician know and he told me he'd WORK with me on the costs NOT to lose business! I would not use his time/expertise and give my business to someone else!

Don't change or delete a thing! I'm sorry you had to be upset by short-sightedness (no pun intended) and I hope you're OK!

Valerie:D

Chiming in................I use the Dr that my insurance pays for. I buy my glasses at the same place. I have never looked at Walmart for glasses frames, I don't see myself doing that, because from the ones I have seen from there, YUK. My opinion only. When I got my eyes examined at the opthamalogist, I had to go elsewhere for my glasses. My current optometrist is colocated with the glasses store, it's easier to get them there, and if I don't think they were ground correctly, the Dr. is right there to check. If I lived in MD, I would go to Dr Breezy, so there!

*don't make the angels get their uniforms on* :p   :p

Carol, rise above it, it is not worth your time and energy. If she thinks that price is the deciding factor, well, she will get what she pays for in the end.

I like that....Dr. Breezy! We angels DO need to protect eachother's wings (not to MENTION our TASSLES)!

The very same thing happened to me and my optometrist has been great in working with me as well. I also purchase my glasses from the optician associated with his office and appreciate having them there for any problem. I can count on the same people in the office consistently, not whomever is working at Walmart that day.
Carol - you shared your opinion and that's exactly what the person who posted had asked. I wouldn't change a thing!

Good Evening Angels!
I came home today to a Big Box on my front porch!! I was so excited to open it!! It was from shamrock bunch, so actually it didn't have that far to travel since we are both in Pittsburgh:teeth:

Thank You SO much Lorraine!! :Pinkbounc

I'll tell the rest of you what was in it! I received a certificate for 2 Pirate Tickets which I am really excited about, because believe it or not, I haven't been to our new PNC Park yet.
There was also a Pirate hat, a PNC Park snowglobe, a pink Princess Minnie antenna topper, a Mickey Pen, a beautiful tropical photo frame (Hey, I have tons of Punta Cana photos that would look great in there!) a pink Pillar candle in a beautiful flowered holder, green apple lip gloss, and a magic mickey towel.

My box will be going out this week and going East!

It was a lot of fun, thanks Lorraine for the neat gifts:D

Evening Angels! Is anyone out there tonight?

Sandi - glad you enjoyed the package, it was fun putting it together. I could not find anything that dealt w/ bikes since I know you like to ride. So instead, I got the towel to wipe the sweat off when you are done riding, and the lip gloss to keep your lips from getting chapped riding. I can't believe you haven't been to the ballpark yet!!!! It is soooo much better than Three Rivers. Let me know when you choose a game, and maybe LK and I might run into you there.

Carol - I agree w/ everyone else that you did the right thing. As LK already said, my family keeps going to the same office that we did when we got our glasses many, many years ago. I don't care if I can save money elsewhere, I know I am going to get the right prescription. My family probably is their best customers since we have about 10 that still go there.

Thank you Angels. You all made me feel better.

I don't have a problem if people want to shop around. And I certainly understand when someone's insurance changes and they have to switch doctors. What struck me wrong was going to one place, picking their brain and getting the information, then spending the money elsewhere.

Enough on this topic. I will not revisit that thread. I appreciate your support. I knew I could come to my friends for that.

Sandi, sounds like you get a great box. Pirates tickets. How cool.

I have been to Home Depot picking up Disney paint chips.

See you on the Riddle.
