Good morning all :)

Sandi, thanks for letting me know how long it takes you. I figure that would definitely put me at about 6.5 hours as it takes about 3 hours to get to Pittsburgh the last I checked. It is a hair further than Chicago, but drivable... of course I would prefer Kennywood since that is closer ;) Obviously too I would have no problem combining the trip up to John's with Riddle Con. He is close to CP and has a very nice home.

Great picture of the two of them too, Sandi!!! Oh and to give you hope, I was 20 when I was engaged, but 23 when I was married. So there is hope for a long engagement ;) I really just wanted to finish school first. Both marriage and school is hard enough w/o having to try to put them both together.

Melissa, I really hope you are feeling better soon!

Diane, good luck at the doctor!!! I hope they will be able to help you!

Good Morning Everyone!!!
I got an email form my nephew this morning saying he head gotten packages from my friends in PA & AZ...thanks Lorraine & Marsha!!!! He asked me to pass along his thank-you's to both of you!:D He said that he really appeciates everything! and that he shares with the other marines who aren't getting any packages.
I'll travel to wherever for RC2...The Sequel..........but obviously CP/Johncon or Kennywood would be more convenient for me.....Hershey would be like a 10 hour drive for me I think.

:D

Morning Angels and TMWLT!

Sandi - you really have me craving crab cakes now! what a nice pic of the happy couple!

Diane - hope you can get something today for your breathing. I can't imagine not being able to breathe well for so long.

Gaspode - take it easy at work and then go home and rest!

Hmmmmmm........Kennywood is a 20 minute drive and Hershey is about 4 hours............Really, I'm game for anything. My kids have never been to Hershey, and I'm sure they would enjoy it. Whatever we don't get to, we have lots of years to go there.

My mom and I are taking my niece out to lunch today at T.G.I.F since she goes back to college next week. It's hard to believe she'll be 21 in a couple of months, and I'm her Godmother!

He's more than welcome Lars! Let us know if we need to do a package for the future!

Morning Lorraine - have a fun lunch with your college bound Godchild! It's scary when the babies aren't babies any longer isn't it? One of my nephews (who I'll be in Disney with) is only 13, but is already taller than his Mom and almost as tall as me (not to mention his voice is now changing)!!! My first godchild....it's hard to believe!

I really would like to be a part of next years riddle, wherever it is....hopefully it's a drive I'll be able to manage!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello all.

Lars, I am so happy to hear that Captain Brandon got my parcel (I would have said package, but that sounds odd!) I, too, will send another in about a month.

Got up at 3:46 am today, hopefully I can get a nap in a little bit.

Yesterday my sister called me. She has been trying to reconfirm her flight for our trip. As she is looking at the reservation, she notices that the date she is leaving is not the 9th but the 8th! YIKES, she didn't know until yesterday that she is leaving Friday. She has had the tickets since June? How that happened, we don't know, but what a mad scramble to get her a hotel room for Friday, change the car pick up for her, add a car pick up for me, etc etc etc. Thank goodness for DU, we got them into the Courtyard for $88.00 and FL Tours is picking them up Friday and me Saturday. If I had known this, I would have just gotten us both one room for that night. Her biggest concern is -"Are you mad because I will be there before you?" This isn't worth getting mad over, at least she and I will be there on Saturday as planned, and maybe she will take the boys to DQ for the day Friday, I don't want to go there.

I think I will go make breakfast.

Good morning everyone!

Sandi, great picture. OMG, she is only 2 years older than my DD.

Diane, hope you get some positive news from the doc today.

John (Towncrier) floated an idea for next year too....to combine RiddleCon with his Memorial Day JohnCon. Any ideas, comments on that idea?
Like I mentioned to you Bernie, this would be a problem for us because school would still be in session and it would be right by finals time. And, I really would hate to drive that far on a holiday weekend. I would really like to go to one of the PA parks.

Marsha, have a great time in the World.

I had thought Cedar Point was doable at about 17 hours, but another 4 hours east would rule that out for me. Looks like Riddle con is turning into an east coast meet.

I vote for WDW for Riddlecon II. If I am going to travel a great distance (which anywhere it is held short of my backyard requires traveling a great distance) then I would prefer to do it for a lengthier time and at someplace special. Cedarpoint was a blast for me ... big park... lots to do. I think WDW would be really even be more fun!

Hi, all! Hope that you get some good news from the Dr today, Diane! Hope everyone that is not feeling well is soon on the mend!

Congrats on all the posties, guys! How many of 'em were on this thread?? :)

I vote *Chicago* for RiddleCon 2!!! Hey, we have Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, the American Girl store, the Mag Mile with WaterTower Place and the huge Disney store...what's not to love??! Any takers??!

Hope you all have a GREAT day! :)

Ack, Lars!!!!! I knew I forgot to do something last week. It's been weird at home and nothing is getting done that I needed to. I'll get back to that saved PM you sent and get on it for your nephew. And as for RC2... if it is along the lines of PA, just come to Columbus and we'll drive together from there. Still a long drive, but we'd make it doable... as long as we both didn't laugh so hard we'd drive off the road ;)

Lorraine, I hope the three of you have a good lunch today. What a sweet thing to do!!!

Morning LTM! :)

Oh boy Marsha! What a thing to have happen so close to the trip! Glad you all got it worked out though and maybe you are right and they'll do DQ that day instead :)

I hadn't thought of that Carol. Could you also imagine how big that meet would be? Poor John... what a huge undertaking that would be!

Diane, hopefully we can find something that would work for you as well for Riddle Con. And Laura I would love WDW for Riddle ConII, but I guess you could say I avoid WDW in the summer like the plague. I'd consider it, but it would also be a lot more expensive for me since I'd have to fly. But of course you have to deal wiht that no matter where most likely!! CP is big and fun though and you can sure can find a lot to do there! And Donna, Chicago is always a great city for me to visit!!!!

Well I worked so hard yesterday I am stuck with very little to do today. I hate when I misjudge work like that!

I'd be up for a WDW Riddlecon for SURE!!! It's true...once the trip becomes one of a great distance.....why not just go to the best place for us to gather!!!!!!!:earsgirl:

The pages really start building up around here without that daily riddle!

It will be a tough choice as to where to have RCII. So many great options out there! I haven't been to Hershey Park in over 10 years, and I see there is a new coaster planned for next year. Not that I would ride it, but it might be a big attraction for some people. Kennywood is a nice, older style, smaller park with tons to do. I would also love to visit Chicago one day. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Don't worry E, I still have to get my package together, too. Don't think of us as being procrastinators, we are just spreading out the joy over a few weeks!

Here are the distances for the "Poppins" group:
Chicago is a 13 hour drive.
Cedar Point is a 17 1/2 hour drive.
Kennywood is an 18 hour drive.
Hershey is a 21 1/4 hour drive.

I don't know. A lot depends on how much vacation DH has, if he even has a new job yet. He loses his job in the spring. It's a long way no matter how you slice it, so unless we can plan our family vacation as part of the deal, it probably won't happen. I can't say much though since we are planning to go on a cruise spring break. (Gotta use our DVC points!)

E, I haven't put together my auntie package yet either. Figured he'd still need goodies when I had a spare minute. I'll get around to it in a few more days.

Sandi, thanks for the picture. It's a great picture. They look very happy.

Hope Diane has good news from the doctor today. Don't overdo it, Melissa. Get well quick.

Marsha, I'm glad that she noticed now! Great that you got it all worked out.

I know I didn't respond to everyone. These are the ones that popped into my head without looking back. Have a great day everyone. I'll check back later.

Good afternoon.

Got the kids schedules and made the necessary changes. Neither of them will be goofing off this year.
