I need some ideas. Our 20th wedding anniversary is coming up in January. DH and I have a cruise planned for March along with 2 other couples but I would like to do something special over our anniversary. DH and I usually take 3 or 4 long weekend getaways during the year and we go to a romantic inn in Jackson NH for one of them. I was thinking of substituting a long weekend in Bermuda during our anniversary but I'm not sure. It is a little pricey and I'm having a hard time finding reservations. The Princess is sold out already. :confused3

If you have been to Bermuda, is it worth going for 4 days? Do you have any suggestions on a hotel besides the Princess and Elbow Beach Resort?

Do you have any other destination ideas for a romantic getaway? We live in MA and would consider driving up to 3 hrs.

Thanks.

Downside to Bermuda that I see is it's not really warm beach weather there in January which makes it less attractive to me at that time. It would be good golfing then however..... It's really a lovely place to visit and I think it would be a great adult getaway but IMHO the optimal time to go would be May.

We honeymooned in Bermuda sixteen years ago and it was fabulous! This is no Jamaica, though... little night life. We golfed, swam and played croquet. They have high tea at 4pm. This is a very British island... dressed up and formal. Loved it!!

I love Bermuda, but you definitely won't be able to swim in January! If you like golf, hiking, horseback riding, etc. it would be nice then. Also, some of the hotels are closed for the low season. In addition to the hotels you already mentioned, I would look into the Reefs (awesome ocean views, family owned, in Warwick Parish near the best beaches). A large hotel that may have availability if the Princesses are sold out is the Elbow Beach Club.

I would definitely go for just a few days--the flights are just two hours from MA.

We went to Bermuda on our honeymoon. It was wonderful! The best vacation I've ever, ever had. :cloud9:
