July
We got up early Saturday morning, and headed to the ice cream parlor for Breakfast. The kids were so excited that we couldn't get them to sit down and eat. After packing some basic necessities, such as the misty mate, the passporter, and our Home Depot Lime Green nametags, We finally got on the road.
Heading into EPCOT from GKTW was pretty exciting. As soon as we saw "THE ARCH" we all started yelling and cheering. Before we knew it, we were headed into SpaceShip Earth. We got right in. The line was virtually nonexistent. Josh and Benji loved all the effects. It was just a really good way to start off the day. From there, we visited such attractions as Honey I shrunk the Audience, Figment's journey into Imagination, and innoventions, where Josh and Grace body slammed each other on the little mats that you step on to make different sounds. Poor grace was actually airborne. It was one of those moments where you want to feel bad, but it was just so funny, I just had to laugh. I never knew four year olds could bounce like that.
Josh got a real kick out of Ice station cool. Between him and myself, we must have fooled a good half dozen victims into trying the Imfamous Beverley. Josh still talks about that.
For lunch, we ended up eating at the food court in the Land. It was good, not terribly expensive, and it gave us a chance to sit and rest!!!
After lunch, we headed to Mexico. The Market place was very authentic. We all enjoyed El Rio Del Tiempo. The fireworks at the end were cool.
From there, we went to Norwya, and rode the Mealstrom. Grace threw a huge viking like fit during the movie, so we passed on that. Meanwhile there were black clouds gathering over head.
Rick convinced me that day that leaving the ponchos in the locker was the way to go. Well, he was half right, actually 1/5 right. Me and the three kids stayed nice and dry in the Reflections of China attraction while Rick, ran, then swam back to the locker to retrieve our ponchos. Thank Goodness Rick was not made of sugar. That's all the needs to be said about THAT!!!
After hanging out in the Outback sort of structure and acknowledging the rain, we decided to head over to the Beir Garten for dinner.
We got in right at our priority seating time with no trouble at all. Rick and I were enjoying talking to the German servers and hostesses and finding out where in Germany they were from. Our server was actually from the same town that we were stationed in. It was a great experience.
The food was amazing. We had authentic Saurbraten, potatoes, salad with real yogurt dressing, real brochen, and wonderful sausages. The funniest part of dinner was when they ran out of Rouladen(meatballs) on the buffett. Grace, with all her chubs and curls and her big blue eyes, started yelling loudly, "WHERE ARE MY MEATBALLS!!!! I MUST HAVE MEATBALLS!!!!" I was up at the buffett when I heard the battle cry for meat balls. I was so embarrassed. I just wanted to sty up there all night. I took her into the bathroom and gave her the "can't always get what you want" lecture, and sure enough, we come out and the waitress had brought out Grace's beloved meatballs. All that angst for meatballs!!!!
We really enjoyed the entertainment. The German band was funny, and talented. It was neat seeing all the kids up there trying to do the dances. We all had a blast.
Alas, the rain hadn't stopped or slowed in the time that we were eating, so we made the decision to go ahead and head back to Give Kids the World.
.
The next day, the fourth of july was spent with family doing the cook out, chow down and gossip about the family thing, so I'll leave day three at that. It was fun and nice seeing family again, but there was not much to report about day three. We stayed clear of the parks, and passed on Fireworks. The high light of that day was family and pizza back at the village.
next up, day four, how NOT to park hop!!!!
