Does anyone who attended the DISmeet on the 17th object to my sharing pictures here? You can send me a PM if you like .... I just don't want to post pictures of other people without knowing that it's OK first.
Thanks!! :goodvibes

I don't remember being in any pictures, but yes you can post it if there is one. Unless I look really bad & fat!;)

UGH!!!! Just need to scream and vent for a minute.

Last week was awful, $1000 in unexpected repairs for the furnace that's only 3 years old. Find out this week the DH's old company (that's he still a part owner of) screwed up the paperwork for insurance coverage when he left there 20 months ago and find out that the renewal was just denied and that our coverage was cancelled as of 9/19. No idea where the 19th date comes from. They'll be returning our premiums that were paid for that time, but we need to pay our new insurance, back to Sep 19th now and I don't think we'll get our refund that quickly. :headache: Thankfully we've been looking at other options for awhile, but it hasn't been easy or cheap.

My business is still slow, growing but very very slowly and I've put more money in to start up than I've been paid so far.

MIL's surgery that was scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled yesterday afternoon. The surgeon wants to run more tests; great but why didn't he decide that a few weeks ago? Nothing has changed since the last test they ran. MIL was devastated :sad2:

Of course now that I don't have to be at the hospital with her, I can go to a funeral for a friend from our old neighborhood. He was early 50's, and when his wife went to wake him up Sunday morning; he wasn't sleeping. :sad1: Visitation and service are tomorrow afternoon.

I'm torn between wanting to scream, hit things, cry, throw up or just start laughing uncontrollably. I try to keep a positive attitude, but it's hiding from me this morning. Sorry for being a downer this morning, but honestly this was the one place that I felt I could be the most honest and open.

Thanks for listening, now back to our regularly scheduled programming of :drinking: & popcorn::

Aww, I'm sorry that's a lot to handle! Sending hugs & prayers.

Chelle, I'm so sorry that you guys have been dealing with so much. Here's a big germ-free hug from Bendy & Jay ...:hug::hug:

Feel free to vent whenever you need to ... that's what us friendies are for when we're not eating and drinking to excess.

Here's an amusing vent about X & Y ...

I may have mentioned here that Jay and I told them we were going to treat them to dinner at a signature restaurant before they left for home. They didn't want to provide any suggestions but wanted Jay and me to choose a place for them and make it a surprise.

:headache:

X doesn't like seafood. X doesn't like sushi. X doesn't like meat. X doesn't like much of anything.

So after much gnashing of teeth and agonized hair pulling, I made an ADR for CA Grill thinking that even the pickiest of the picky would be able to find something to eat and enjoy there.

So we took them. And we got a lovely table next to the window directly overlooking the Magic Kinngdom - it was beautiful. And the food was terrific ... much better than last year so I don't regret going there.

But do you want to know what X ordered???

...

...

...

Go on ... hazard a guess; I dare you.

...

...

...

X ordered a California Roll for dinner and nothing else. Wouldn't even eat the three-cheese flatbread we ordered for everyone to share.

:headache::headache::headache::headache:

If I had known that someone had suddenly decided to eat fishies we would have taken them to Bluezoo or Flying Fish.

I've learned my lesson:

NEVER TRAVEL WITH FAMILY EVER AGAIN!!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Might I suggest a nice glass of wine and a bubble bath? :grouphug: :grouphug:

Y'all are the BEST! Thanks for all the love & support  I usually try to the the strong/silent hold it together for everyone else type, but this morning I just needed to explode. I am very blessed to have such amazing Friendies :worship:

btw, did you all see the announcement/unveiling of the Disney Dream? I've got a link in my blog & on my FB. It's pretty darn cool and the water coaster looks AWESOME!!!

I drank for fun before they showed up. ;)

And I guess to make up for X's unwillingness to order anything, the nephew ordered two of the most expensive items on the entire menu. It's a rather unattractive habit of his ... when someone else is footing the bill he goes all out.

Bendy - take me next time. I'll eat and drink just about anything! Have to go find your review now because I'm going to LOVE reading about X and Y, :lmao: :lmao:

Just a quick hello to let you know that John is doing fine, he is back to his old self. That means, I can now kill him for scaring me so much:lmao::lmao:

Wow, That must have made for a memorable evening for everyone involved. Thanks so much for keeping us posted and letting us know that DH is back to normal again.

ChelleinNC - Do you mean there was no insurance to cover the cost of the new furnace? Actually I'm glad you reminded me about checking into insurance. I had noticed that I was getting funy looking water spots on my floor before I left for the summer but forgot to mention it to my brother (my all-around handyman). We finally got around to checking what was going on last week and it turns out the water heater was one step from breaking apart and flooding the place. It was rusted through and leaking like crazy for months and I need to check whether house insurance covers the repairs for wrecked floor. It's always something isn't it!
I don't know if it helps at all, but when I find myself feeling depressed (usually because my bills seem to resemble Mt. Everest and my income resembles a molehill), I keep reminding myself that I've managed to get through everything else that life has thrown at me so far - and I can make it through this as well.

Michelle: Thank you for those wonderful tips on WW. You mentioned something called HRT (*?). What is that exactly? I'm also curious - when you had reached goal weight and maintained it for a year or more, did the intense hunger pangs go away for you? They didn't for me and it started to be a big problem because I was taking stuff like Tylenol 3 to try and dull the feelings. I mean, there's only so many bags of carrots and cauliflower you can eat. One of the best foods I found against the shakes is shrimp. It has the highest level of protein as compared to the lowest level of fat - so you can have a lot of it. I made it last nightand served it over spaghetti squash.

BTW, did anyone manage to get the Blood Orange Margarita recipe from the Mexican pavilian at Epcot?

Anyone else going to the MJ movie "This is It?" I have tickets for tomorrow night.

Tatania ... we weren't smart enough to ask for any recipes at the Ditch. :headache:

As for X&Y ... I'm not going to mention them much in my reviews because it's just better that way. We didn't share that many meals with them anyway.

Jay and I spent more time with DIS-friends than we did with them. That's how they seemed to prefer it so we weren't going to push the issue ... and we were having too much fun anyway.

The warranty was only for 2 years, I know that because we had a problem with the air conditioner last summer - at the 2 year, 1 month mark :headache: I don't think the homeowners insurance would cover it and honsetly I'd be afraid of how much the premiums would go up if we did file a claim

I know that it will all work in the end, it always does. I just kinda lost it yesterday after DH asked for a check for 2 1/2 months worth of health insurance, a week after 2 checks to the heating guy and right before DD's birthday :upsidedow

Chelle, I hate to hear that you have so much aggravation right now! Health insurance stuff always scares the crap out of me, and our BCBS premiums just keep going up for me and dd. I would've freaked out too finding out we had no coverage for a month! Glad you're feeling better today .

Brenda, there is something definitely wrong with X if she won't even eat bread with cheese on it. How's the cough today? Not suggesting anything illegal, but if you can get your hands on some moonshine, it will really help your cough at night (mix with honey or not).

I have been slipping a little something into my morning coffee ... doesn't seem to be helping much. I'm tired of coughing ... my back and my stomach muscles hurt from all the hacking and I can't sleep very well. At least it's been an easy week for me at work - although by posting that I'm sure I just jinxed myself. :rotfl2:

Chelle - I am glad to read that you are a little happier this morning. :goodvibes

Brenda - I hope that cough leaves you soon. Have you tried Mucinex? It is what got me through a bout of that nasty stuff last winter.

Hi Elin. I have been taking Mucinex-D but now I'm wondering if I've been taking the wrong one? When I picked up my prescription the pharmacist wasn't there and the tech behind the counter didn't know the difference between all the different Mucinex products. Doctor just told me to take Mucinex and didn't specify which one ... :confused3

Thanks goodness it's Friday! :thumbsup2

Chelle, Glad you're feeling better about things today. Hang in there!

I was just reading your blog, I am so sad to see that Art retired! Especially since we saw in the lobby on the 15th, but he was surrounded by people. We decided to chat with him later, we went over to the Crew's Cup for a snack & lunch & when we came back through the lobby he was gone. We didn't see him the rest of our trip. If I had known he was retiring I would have stood in line to chat with Art! He is such a wonderful man, we love him, I'm so sad we missed our last oppurtunity to see him. Thanks so much for posting the video of him!

Brenda, I'm sorry you're still feeling bad! MucinexD is the expectorant guaifenesin plus the decongestant pseudoephedrine. So you shouldn't be taking another decongestant. That would cause things do dry up & instead of loosening up and getting out of your lungs. Also double doses of pseudoephedrine isn't safe. ( No I'm not a dr. I just get sick too darn much!) I'm gonna pm you about this, now I'm worrying about you!

I was going to say about the same thing shovan did... you don't want or need that second "D"

Take care!!!!

OK, friendies... I need pointers for La Nouba. Kathrin and I are the only members of our family to ever want to see it and I just realized that we have an open night before Bob and Kristin get to WDW! And there are tickets available all over the venue. HELP!!! I don't want to break the bank, but I want decent seats!

Thanks! Our BCBS (as well as all companies) have been going up as well, add to it DH turning 40 this year and the premiums really jumped! Thankfully our new policy will be back dated to 9/19 when the other one stopped, so everything will end up covered in the end, it'll just take time to sort it out.

Special coffee in the morning, can't say that I haven't considered it but was afraid to go down that road :rolleyes1

All the  from my friends helped a lot :thumbsup2

Thanks for the hugs  and for reading the blog :goodvibes I was so sad when I first heard that Art was retiring. Jon & I looked at each other and both said we weren't telling DS. Of course DS did eventually hear about it and said "That's it, I'm never going back to the Beach Club!" There is a thread about Art on the Disboards and he has a Facebook fan page that he's kept informed of :goodvibes

Brenda, as everyone else has said no double dipping with the decongestant, but you can take Delsym with the Mucinex and it works really well for stopping the cough. It's what my Dr and the Pediatrician has recommended for my family and it doesn't even taste bad :thumbsup2

I don't have any personal experience with this (sadly because I really want to see it!) but let me see what I can find out for you :goodvibes

Thanks, Chelle! Another friend suggested Category 2, sections 203-205 as good buys. I need to go look at the seating charts. Kathrin and I have wanted to see this for years!
