Brenda,

We did Todd's Signature Dinner last year and they were really generous with the wine!! As soon as they saw your glass almost empty they would pour a new one for you.

If you really want to do the Tequila, I would try.

Also, I don't know about the casual dress notations. People were nicely dressed at the dinner. We saw many little black dresses. ;)

Hi Jeanne - were you successful this morning? :goodvibes

I was told that the attire for Todd's dinner was resort casual ... equal to Disney's dress code for signature restaurants. I guess that means anything goes but we'll dress up for it.

And I did book the tequila pairing ... Jay's gonna kill me.

Hey Brenda,

Yep, got all that I wanted. :goodvibes

Tutta Italia F&W Pairing - 10/17 (Looking forward to enjoying this event with you and Jay!)

Tequila Tasting - 10/23

Fred Dame's Epcot Wine School - 10/24 (Marcel's Birthday Gift from Me)

Jason says that he thinks in his morning head he heard resort casual also for PFTS?! I am still dressing nice!

Also no one said Non-refundable????
I don't remember the CM saying non-refundable either.

i can tell you right now if i were walking "right down the middle of Main Street USA" it would be with a flamethrower. :headache:
LOL.

Finally got thrrough to a very nice CM who actually knew what she was talking about.

Got the Blue Zoo dinner on the 16th and the Tutto F&W pairing on the 17th - would you believe that the tequila pairing on the 23rd is sold out? We don't have time on the 17th or the 18th and I'm pretty sure it's a bad idea to try for a tequilia pairing on the 16th three hours before Todd's dinner.

To compensate I asked about the Flying Fish dinner on the 15th - it's also sold out.
I'm glad you were able to get most of what you wanted.

:banana::banana:

I don't actually own a flamethrower ... and I'm not sure they'd let me in with one anyway. ;)

I really did want the tequilia pairing but I can't fit it in anywhere else ... tell me honestly ... do you guys think it's too much to try for it on the 16th before bluezoo?
Go for it! (Just read that you did book it, yay!)

Good for you! It was funny ... when I was trying to book the 10/23 tequila event the CM told me that she was attending that event, too. Do you think they get to book early or do they book their own events before answering the phone?

Glad to hear your MIL is feeling better now and that she's on the mend. Those kind of issues suck-didley-uck. :sad2:

Hope you enjoy the newest update ... I think you will enjoy the DQ story. :thumbsup2

That looked like wonderful sushi and I loved the presentation!

What the h e l l is wrong with your friends?!?!?!? :upsidedow

Seriously, your menu looks wonderful and I would love the French Toast recipe, but I would have been drinking Mimosas beCAUSE it was 95 in the shade! ;)
ITA!

We have a 40% off code for our room and our friends' room for our trip in Dec. Can they add the dining plan and tickets and make it a package? Or does it have to be kept room only?
I'm gonna say "it depends" I know, not the answer you were looking for but sometimes the system does strange things. What are your dates for the trip? Have you/friends considered the new free dining?

Elin, here's the recipe for the Caramel French Toast Casserole.....
Thanks for posting the recipe, that sounds yummy!

now i've got dead airspace on my phone and i got through on my cell but it's telling me 30+ minute wait. i think that other cm disconnected me ... i'm gonna cry.
:scared1::sad1:

How's this ... I just called back and got through right away to another CM who was awesome and I went ahead and booked the tequila pairing for the 16th.

It's the perfect interlude between dinner and drunk. :rotfl2:

Glad it mostly worked out in the end:goodvibes

The food & wine events ARE nonrefundable, all of them. They're supposed to read you that spiel. My agent just said "we have to get your information all right because once you book them they're nonrefundable" I said I knew that so I didn't get the spiel every time.

Doing 3 signatures - Bluezoo, California Grill and Wonders Retreat. And tequila tasting 10/17 before dinner at Bistro. They are supposed to serve a little food with the tequila too.

My mother was trying for a pairing at Tutto Italia on 9/26 but I don't know how she did.

I want the PFTS on October 31 but am waiting to book that until I get reports about the Wine View Room.

Confirmed that the phone agents can't book the wine or culinary seminars.

Bluezoo last year was semi-formal dress, and they said so.

No BlueZoo? :confused3

We have both the PFTS with Wine View ...and shock no extra info on that!
We are asking about the daily wine and food $8 classes and are back on hold!

Whoops, in my excitement and haste, I forgot to mention that I shared booking duties with a friend. I was to call for the Flying Fish event, and she was calling for TEb™. She managed to get us into Todd's event, so I do have three events booked.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you had the Disney Dining Hell this morning. When I called, the first words out of my mouth were: "I'd like to book the special dining events for the Food and Wine Festival." I told her the name of the event, the date, the time and price. I'm so glad you managed to get into Todd's event.

It couldn't be any worse than me doing the tequila event on your birthday before going to Bistro for dinner.

Woohoo! I can't wait to see how you are at Todd's! Should be entertaining! :rotfl2:

Congrats on getting your events - I hope your mom was successful this morning, too.

I suspected as much when I saw your initial post ... I knew there was no way you were going to miss that bluezoo dinner!

I've never had that happen before. Like I said, I can deal with not booking an event because it's popular and sells out fast but I was really upset that I wasn't even going to get a fair shot at anything, not because I was lazy or clueless, but because someone else didn't know how to perform their job. I was sitting here sniffing back tears while listening to that damn Main Street USA song on my landline and my cell phone. You guys think it's bad in one ear, try listening in stereo! :rotfl2:

Anyway, now I'm worried that CM may have mucked up my normal ADRs. I'm actually getting ready to check them all online in a few minutes just to be on the safe side. She was the most clueless person I've ever spoken with at Disney Dining in all the years that I've called. :headache:

Alison is right about one thing ... there won't be any need for me to smuggle in travel sized bottles of booze on the 16th! :rotfl2:

I'm excited that so many DISfriendies will be at Bluezoo that night - should make for a really fun evening. :woohoo::banana:

I'm glad to see that everyone got most of what they wanted, even if it was harrowing to get there!

Just checked all of our ADRs online ... the normal ones, that is ... and thankfully the Sleestack agent who was so effecient at not helping me did not screw up any of our other reservations. I'm so relieved ... I worked very hard to get that dining tour just right. :thumbsup2

I think I can go run some errands now and do some more laundry and maybe even take a nap. :goodvibes

Congratulations to all who got what they wanted

 for those who got shut out or had incompetent CM's on the line.

I decided not to book anything since I am there for such a short time. I'll probably try to get into some of the daily events going on and eating and drinking my way through World Showcase!

Since I was only booking PFTS, I didn't do the mad rash at 6am central. Called at 9:15am central and got the Wine View Lounge on 10/17 with no problem. Now if we had decided on Todd English, I would definitely have been on the phone at 6am. I was surprised to hear that other events are sold out and that Todd English is still available.

Yea! Lori!
BlueZoo! We have to live through you ;)

I am happy everyone seemed to get what they wanted. Even though while I took a nap it seems the system crashed!

I think because Todd doesn't have a Disney restaurant, and the event costs more, it may not be as popular. He also has that reputation for pushing the envelope. If you saw the items from last year's dinner, they're kinda "weird." (Flat scallop, anyone? Beet dippin' dots?) Really good, but weird. A lot of folks like to be more sedate even with their fine dining.

Again from last year at Bluezoo - the entire restaurant was used for the event then, so there's more seating available than there are at the Disney restaurants that use a smaller private room or a section of the dining room.

The CM told me when I booked Bluezoo that it was "banquet" seating. If I'd been thinking a little more clearly I would have asked if the tables were rounds or rectangles.

I am eagerly waiting to hear about the wine view lounge and what people think of it. I admit that I'm really surprised that it's selling so well. But then again ... I'm not one of the beautiful people so I don't need or want to be seen (that blurb in the F&W info just cracked me up - the place to see and be seen). :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Great to hear the Friendies have had good luck with their ressies!

We were able to book the PFTS with wine view on Oct 10th. The party and our dinner at Bistro will be our special events for the week.:cool1:

This morning I was also able to (finally!) book a buy three get one free at the Homewood Suites in Orlando. The Orlando Tourist folks have lots of listings for deals, but trying to book them is another story. This time, though, the reservationist was great. Two rooms? No problem. :thumbsup2 Great deal, and it's near Universal. Should be a fun weekend with our daughter.

October will be here before we know it! :dance3::dance3:

I agree with our completely about the see and be seen. Ugh. Why would anyone say something that idiotic in an interview?:rolleyes1

We are doing two wine view lounges! We are not the beautiful people but Jason was scared that I would see a wheel of Stilton or a wine I love I didn't have access to and jump the rope. He thought better to pay now or pay later! :rotfl2:

Banquet seating just means they'll seat you with other people and your party should be prepared to share a table.

If they sell out the wine view room it'll help me with the booking - then it'll just be regular party and I will see but not be seen.

Can I ask which one of you ladies posted a review of Todd's event last year? I want to be able to send Drew a link at school so he can check it out. He's all pumped to be going.
