Well, you were waving at the wrong exit, Allison! :rotfl2:

Seriously... I wish you had told me your plan to come back that way. I would have screamed NO! out my window and you would have heard me in Asheville! The roads from just south of here up through your neck of the woods are horrendous on the weekends, but Fridays are just nasty. I am sorry. I hope it was a worthwhile trip for having to put up with that. :sad2:

Oh well doesn't that just figure? :rotfl2:

Yeah...we were making awesome time until we got around this area. Four hours later I wanted to poke my eyes out. Never again. :sad2:

My DD Kristin is getting ready to leave for the Paul McCartney concert. She is

I saw Paul in concert years ago in the late 80's or early 90's when Linda was still alive. He was in Philly at Veteran's Stadium and it was a spectacular show. Hope Kristin has a great time!

I hope she has a wonderful time!!! :goodvibes

This is her birthday present to herself. They are in the nosebleed seats but they will be there and she is just beside herself with excitement. She knows more about the music of my time period than I do. :rotfl:

How far did you get in four hours? Not even to DC I will bet!

We did make it to DC in the 4 hours, thanks in part to my overly aggressive NJ driving. (I admit it atleast.) :sad2:

Me and the kids were in hysterics when we saw this flashing road sign though...

Is road rage a problem by you guys? Cause let me tell you, I'm an advocate of the dashboard mounted shotgun... and lord knows I would have been tempted to use it if it were legal. :rotfl:

Look what Jay and I just booked for the end of the month:

Chocolate, Wine & Jazz!

Finally something on a weekend! And the best part ... it's only about 20 minutes from our house! :cool1:

Sounds like a great event Brenda. I'm jealous because you guys seem to have a lot of booze events by you. They are few and far between here. Can't wait to hear all about it.

After checking out my handy Google page I see that there is a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods about 50 minutes north of me. Might be a fun thing to do on a quiet Saturday. Check 'em both out and compare them to our new Wegmans... which I have been to three times and still haven't seen everything!

Are they at Tyson's Corner? That's the TJ's I go to. Although today I was at the Fairfax one.

Didn't buy any wine but I have a bottle of Dead Guy Ale and am catching up on Hell's Kitchen while my internet is connecting properly.

Well, there are a lot of wineries and microbrewies around here, so that helps. And a lot of the wineries are within easy driving distance of our house - we're just too lazy to visit them (and not all of them are worth visiting, anyway). Honestly, after our last couple of poor experiences with "wine" dinners we figured that we were better off with plain old booze events.

Just got back from a tremendously tasty sushi dinner followed by uber-fattening Dairy Queen for dessert. I can't remember the last time we ate something from DQ ... I think it was while Jay and I were still dating. There's a really funny story that goes along with it, but I'm going to save it for the review once I post it on the blog. Suffice to say that more than 10 years later it still makes Jay and me laugh. :goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think you must be channeling my daily road rage. :goodvibes I often say that it's a good thing that I don't own a gun ... I'd be too tempted to use it in traffic. :lmao:

The WineChocolateJazz thing looks promising, Brenda! And the price and location are just perfect.

It took you 4 hours to drive 52 miles.... ya think maybe we have a bit of rage running through our drivers here? :lmao: Honestly, that is not unusual for a Friday. Did you happen to notice what it looked like coming south?!?

Nope, they are in Springfield. Love Dead Guy Ale! I picked up a 6-pack of Leinenkugel Summer Shandy last night and it is not bad. Very refreshing in our heat wave.

Tell me more about Dead Guy Ale ... we're always looking for new beer to try.

Good beer. :thumbsup2

Yeah, there's a reason its not legal to carry in NJ. As it is, I give my fellow motorists the Italian salute along with some words of encouragement more than I care to admit. :sad2: I'm still waiting for old age to mellow me.

I swear a blue streak while I drive and call people all kinds of names that I would be embarrassed to repeat here (I think I would actually end up banned for life). I also shout, give people the stink-eye, throw my hands up in exasperation, and shake my fist so much that my upper-arm flab waggles distractingly. :rotfl2:

Ya know... for a while I was grateful that I wasn't on the southbound side-even laughed at the poor saps in the regular and HOV lanes. My laughter stopped a few miles later when the northbound side came to a screeching halt too. That'll teach me.

And now you'll never come back here... :sad2: :sad1:

It appears they are all settled in and ready for Sir Paul (well, this was from 90 minutes ago...)

I will blackball no geographical area... however, alternate route is now part of my vocabulary when having to come anywhere near the DC area.

You too, huh? :lmao:

I have foodie pics from our trip. I need to get my butt in gear and upload. Some good...some average.
