I can't believe you made a reservation for six people and they only managed to get one name ... :rotfl2: Thank goodness they always call back to verify ... it would have been really awkward trying to cram all of us at a table for one. ;)

Are they going to find us some meat butter??? :confused3:

And thanks again for spearheading the effort! BTW, what time is everyone arriving at V&A and is the reservation still for 5:15pm?

I did not ask about getting meat butter. I didn't have the nerve to do it.
But I did ask about getting Chef's Table in the main dining room. The answer? They do it for smaller parties. Table for 6...ain't possible to do that.

I'm going to try to get there sometime around 5pm if I can. It is still 5:15pm.

We will answer to anything as long as we have a seat!:rotfl2:
I saw Brenda's question - what time IS the meet up? or the meat butter up?!:lmao:

Plan on being there for a 5:15pm check in time. See above post to Brenda. :)

Thanks for the pimp Brenda. Of course now the pressure will be on for me to finish this one. :rotfl:

Are those of us stuck at home still saluting your birthday online next saturday night? If so what time? :goodvibes

Hey, I'd say you had a really good reason for not finishing the last one. Your daughter is way more important than food reviews.

You could do what I'm going to do and drink all day. We should be getting the official party started about 9:30PM Florida time next Saturday if that helps at all.

Headed to your report now :goodvibes

What time should we start drinking at home next week???

Happy Sunday!

Brenda -Sorry about your bum. How do you feel today?

jiminni - Started reading your review, can't wait for more. The title craced my husband up, he loved it.

BriarRosie - Too bad you couldn't get them to do chef's table, but you all will have a fabulous meal. I have to ask though - What the heck is meat butter?? :)

Hello to everyone!!

OK, have a question. We will have a ten night trip this time.

How do you all do it. Packing for your trip. Most of you are coming by air plane and some have children (so more packing).

We live about an hour from Disney and packing is such a pain. I know I bring way too much, and I'm OCD about it - or so my husband say. Because we don't do laundry on the trip, we usually pack outfits for every day, plus things to wear if we go out!

I get myself all crazy with packing. I make my lists, and pretty much start putting it together a week before. But, it always seems that the night before the trip we are up really late still trying to get everything done.

Any good tips?

Brenda I know you had asked, sorry it took so long.

Magical Star Cocktail

1 part pineapple juice
1 part coconut rum (we prefer Parrot Bay)
1 part x-rated fusion liqueur **
1/2 - 1 part sweet & sour mix
1 glow cute

Put in cocktail shaker with ice. Blend together and then pour over glow cube (if you have it) and ice.

Enjoy!

** x-rated fusion liqueur is a vodka that is blended with blood orange, mango and passion fruit.

Hello to everyone!!

Hiya Jeanne! My tenderized regions are still tender today but less than yesterday, so that's good news! Thanks for asking.

Meat butter is what Chelsi and her hubby have taken to calling foie gras. The rest of us thought it was so funny that we've all taken to using it. I forget sometimes that not everyone knows what it is. :rotfl2:

We bring a ton of clothes, too. Usually enough to change twice a day because of the heat as well as clothes for dinner in the evenings. I cram all the "dinner clothes" into a garment bag with my nice shoes and we carry that on with us. Everything else I organize and set out ... then Jay packs it all. He spent years playing Tetris when he was in junior high and high school and has an uncanny ability to create space where none previously existed.

And we tend to leave a lot of packing until the last night, too. But Jay and I both are terrible procrastinators. I'm going against the grain today to start packing up all the stuff for the DISmeet and some other items that aren't necessary to daily life but that's about the best I can manage.

I don't think I provided anything useful to you ... sorry. I'm really just an enabler. ;) BTW, thanks for the drink recipe! We may try that later today while I'm trying to get our travel stuff organized! :rotfl2:

I just wanted to add that the X-rated Fusion liqueur can be addictive, I'm mean refreshing, in the summer heat of Florida if served in a tall glass with ice and cranberry juice. I used Ocean Spray diet cranberry juice which of course negates the calories of the Fusion. No precise measuring of ingredient parts was needed. :cool1:

If we all start drinking earlier in the day (just for support, mind you) then we need to remember to sign on to this thread before we forget how.

I have my list, and nothing gets crossed off until it's actually in the suitcase or truck. I pull the suitcase out a week before the trip (ok, I try to do it a week before the trip but sometimes it's closer to the day before the trip:rolleyes1) I just put stuff in all week long and then it's done :) Then Jon comes and organizes it because I say it won't all fit and won't close and a few minutes later pixiedust: it's done

I think I need to get some x-rated fusion liqueur, cuz that sounds yummy!

Very good idea :thumbsup2

Too bad we won't have a webcam ... :rotfl2:

Now that would be fun!!!:dance3::lmao:

a wee bit of food porn before the trip ...

we ordered some chocolate covered bacon from Dean & Deluca and tried it last night with some Chocolate by the Barrel Cream Stout from the OFallon Brewery. They age the beer in bourbon barrels ... it's quite tasty (it better be for almost $12 per bottle!).

I'm still on the fence about the chockie bacon ... it's a little weird tasting for me. Maybe it's better when it's fresh from the source. It wasn't bad, just a little different. Even Jay isn't exactly on board with it just yet. I'm glad we tried it though.

Brenda - I don't know if you are a baker or not, but DD Kristin makes the best chocolate chip cookies. She adds bacon pieces to the dough before forming the cookies. That is how I like my chocolate/bacon combination!

I just finished watching the wedding episode(s) from The Office. One of Kathrin's good friends from HS has had a recurring role on that show, and finally had a chance to catch him. He plays Pete Halpert, brother of John who is a regular on the show. It sure seems funny to watch TV and see Tug on the screen!

I love to bake but I'm not crazy about making cookies. Your daughter's idea sounds intriguing, though; I may have to give it a try this year over the holidays. :thumbsup2

Wow, Elin

I would love that recipe.

Oh, Jeanne... it is so easy! Take any recipe (including refrigerator chocolate chip cookie dough) and add bacon pieces. We are famous for kneading things into refrigerator cookie dough! Sugar cookies + dried cherries and pistachios makes one of my favorites! Drizzle melted white chocolate over the baked cookies!
