I'm gonna opt out of any xmas cards this year. I'm just not into the holidays... Hope you all have fun!
As for our Christmas trip to WDW... AirTran charges a $75 cancellation fee for each ticket and our tickets were only $81 each way. Basically we would lose our airfare if we canceled. So, after much discussion we decided to keep the trip, but modify it a bit. We moved to POFQ for the first 3 nights and then will check into AKL CL for Christmas night. That way we can still do the Sunrise Safari we have booked and we get a little of what we had originally planned. We don't leave until 9:00 PM on the 26th so we will have use of the CL Lounge for two full days and can spend lots of time relaxing there. All four of us seem happy with what I worked out, and I think we need this family time together. We had already paid for almost all of this anyway, so... seemed like a no-brainer to Bob and me.
I thank you all for your continued thoughts. They are much appreciated.![]()
Thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone. They mean a lot to both of us. We were feeling a little better today after Bob went in and met with HR and got the details of all of this. They are being very generous and, although insurance will have to be COBRA, I think we will be OK for a while.
However, about 2 hours ago Kristin called me to tell me that her bank had been robbed. She is still with the police. I am so glad the stupid people who did this chose a Friday night since she is there alone M-Th. She just texted her Dad to say the police might have caught the two suspects. I hope that is true.
What a helluva a couple of days!
Just wanted to pop in and say how thankful I am to have the friendies as a part of my "family". Knowing I can count on y'all means the world to me. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and to all who are traveling, please stay safe. Love y'all!![]()

(To all my friendies... I am thankful for all your boozy, foodie companionship too!)
Regarding holiday cards ... I didn't keep a list ... we have a different computer now than the one we had this time last year anyway so there are a lot of things that didn't transfer. I will likely opt out this year - too many other things going on and I know I'm not going to have the time to get 'em mailed the way I should. But if someone else wants to take charge feel free ... go forth and spread cheer!![]()
Elin, I've got last year's list still saved in my hotmail account. I can send it in a PM on FB (I think). I'll try to do that this morning. Whoever wants to do cards then has the list!
So is anyone Jewish (or something else) besides Robin?
Channukah starts on Dec 1st! Mmmmmmm Latkes....
Hey, Friendies... Two items of business.
1) - If you want to be in on the card exchange this year please PM me your name, address and email address so I can add you to the list. I didn't take anyone off the list that Brenda compiled last year, by the way.
2) - I am a bragging Mom right now. I know you all will enjoy reading the food/restaurant review my daughter did for TimeOut Boston! It is short and sweet and her boyfriend, who is a professional photographer, took the photos. I am happy that all those years of fine-tuning her taste buds are paying her back financially! Who would have thought the kid who wanted pizza burgers, green jello and Fritos would come to like fancy food.
