Just for the record I have shipped booze via UPS and USPS and never had any problems. I have also had people ship booze to me the same way ... not saying it's still probably not illegal somehow but really, if Elliot Ness wants to come after me for that, then the US government is really paying attention to the wrong things.

I agree! We shipped 16 bottles back from CA three years ago. The guy at the UPS office handed us a box and said, "Put your dirty clothes in there and seal it all up. To protect both our reputations I won't watch!" And he walked into the back room, leaving us to put the wine in that big box along with all our dirty clothes! No heavy suitcases coming back home!

I know I had been wishing for rain here also but man we got it and it isn't stopping. 24 hours of rain so far. Looks like my husband will have to mow before we go on vacation now.

It had better dry out enough by Thursday morning or mine won't get cut before October 11 or 12! My neighbors will love us by then, I'm sure.

Elin, I was thinking this might be very good for us...I really miss being able to fly SWA especially after I changed my Airtran flight last week. It was a reward flight so I only had to pay the $75 change fee, but still... my brain said "had this been SWA you would not have to pay anything!"

Then again they could decide to route everything to MCO through Chicago like they did with Dulles. I know how badly SWA has wanted routes from DCA. Airtran has a big presence at Dulles too. So maybe they'll get more gates there as well.

Am also wondering about the lack of competition. JetBlue is still active at Dulles and DCA though.

Let's talk Turkey ... it's early I know but I like to get my brine before it's all sold out. I usually do a a wet brine but this year I see Williams Sonoma has a dry brine. Anyone ever try a dry brine? I'm thinking it's just a different name for a rub but not sure?

Looks like the weather is finally starting to change here....they are saying we won't have anymore 90+ degree days. It was actually cool enough last night that I made some fall food (sirloin roast with onion gravy, mashed taters, and green beans). All washed down with some delicious pumpkin beer!

Our plans are downtown disney or visiting some Orlando friends that just got engaged. We haven't decided yet.
