DW & I have been talking about doing this for years now, but it is always so busy. I am assuming the bar is first come/first serve. Has anyone experienced this? Can you order lunch while at the bar there?

I don't know if you can order food at the bar. There weren't any bar stools when we went. I loved that place though!

Yes, it's first come first serve. And yes, they serve food, but very limited. They don't serve the restaurant menu, but they do have the fish and chips. Much cheaper than the restaurant menu price, I might add.

If you wanted something more, you'd need a restaurant ADR.

Can you make your ADR to sit outside or is it just what is available when you get there?

On the WDW website Rose and Crown page is says to "ask to sit outside," when you get there, but I've seen people post on here that they don't take requests. I'm curious too.

I work there so I'll try to explain best I can. Sometimes when it is very busy, we don't take requests at all for outside or inside, it is just first available table to fit your party. However, most of the time when you check in (not when you make your ADR) you can say that you'd prefer to sit outside. But remember a request is a request and is not guaranteed at all which a lot of people forget.
No ADRs for the bar, you just sit anywhere at the tables in the bar.

^ The cast members at The Rose and Crown Pub are among the friendliest in ALL of WDW. :thumbsup2 We always have a wonderful time there.

Yes, it's first come first serve, but you can get a table with just a little bit of a wait while you're enjoying your beverage of choice.

The menu is limited, but the fish and chips are wonderful. We just wish -with all our hearts- that they'd bring back the 'scottish eggs'.

Those things were incredible.

1) Standing only at the bar.
2) But, there are six tables if you wait for an opening.
3) We particularly like a pint with the cheese plate.
4) OK, we particularly like SEVERAL pints with the cheese plate.

Thank you. We are hoping to have lunch there one day and were told that it is really nice to sit outside. I think we will just ask when we check in and if there is an open table or will be with minimal wait, we will wait, if not, we will just have to eat inside.

If you get to the bar early and don't mind drinking before noon (or close to it) the bar is not nearly as crowded as it gets later in the day. You can have something from the bar menu while standing at the bar, or if you are lucky enough to score a table. However, if you do get a table, you find that you love sitting there so much you NEVER want to leave!
