Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

I know exactly where you were living!!!

The city has had quite a renaisance... Mary Lou Whitney had alot to do with it.

Planky did part of his still unfinished trip report from there... I'll look tonight to see where SS starts for you to see...
Just tell me Professor Moriartys' is still there.... I loved their french onion soup :cloud9:

I know that I wasn't part of the conversation, but I thought I'd join in anyway! I live in Schenectady and my husband works on the 109th! Sorry about the C130's! :rotfl:

It's such a small world! :)

Welcome :flower3:
My aunt by marriage lives in Schnenectady and her husband works at the university.

Everyone start singing now: It's a small world after all....

My son graduated from University at Albany! :cool1:

Hey jump in anytime!!!

Ohhh don't get me wrong.. I LOVE the C130's... we watch them all the time. I love it when you're in the Walmart parking lot and you look up and all of a sudden you're looking at the bottom of a airplane!!! and I love that they do such incredible work such as Antarctica... nobody else gets to claim THAT one!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: (as a matter of fact they should be flying over tonight in about an hour - I think they are training for night missions...) Wait... I hear one... :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

So I guess I don't live in the middle of nowhere like my family in Jersey claims... :confused3

I was reading this to my husband and he just smiled. He's very proud of the work that they do in Antarctica. :thumbsup2 And if your relatives from Jersey thinks this is the middle of nowhere, they should live in some of the places that we did when he was in active duty! :scared1:

I can relate!!:rotfl:
Wow, there are a few of us military/ex-military peeps on this thread, eh? Do you think our love for food *coughboozecough* stems from all that stressful military stuff?:rolleyes1

Well, I don't have anyone in the military, but the C130's have been buzzin my house for 4 years (not every day...and we DO love to watch them... they amaze me with the way they can move those planes...)

BUT...

That would explain my wanting a mimosa on Sundays when I'm eating brunch at Olivers and a plane goes over my head... :rotfl:(Olivers is at the end of one of the runways...

C130's always look like they are floating in the sky! I actually got to ride in one a few years ago. It was amazing! Even got to sit up front with the pilot for a while. It's something I'll never forget!

I thought everyone was hanging on this thread 'cause they were addicted to food ... and booze. :lmao:

Hey everybody. It's been a couple of weeks since I've checked out the thread. I have been going through a tough time. My Mom passed away on the 27th of April. It was really unexpected. She was complaining of side pains and we took her to the hospital. It turns out she had pneumonia and the doctors gave her a 50/50 chance. I never expected to lose her, she was such a strong lady. She died less than 24 hours later. I just wanted to remind everybody how important it is to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Mother's Day is this weekend and it is going to be the hardest day of my life. I would give anything to have one more day with my Mom. I know that she knew I loved her, but I still wish I had a chance to let her know exactly what she meant to mean. Thank you for listening.

I am so, so sorry for your loss of your dear Mom. Early days of loss and grief are the hardest. All you can do is take it one day at a time and know that others care. :flower3:

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

So sorry to hear of your loss ... really wish I could do more than send you some cyber-hugs. Just know that your friendies here are thinking of you and your family. :grouphug:

I am SO sorry to hear about your mom...:hug::hug:

I can understand a bit of what you are feeling. I had to rush my mom to the hospital in March and it suddenly hit me how lost I would be without her. Fortunately it wasn't anything major, but you are right... cherish every moment.

Thank you. I lost my brother this past September to colon cancer also. He was only 40. It really broke my Mom's heart. I've never really lost anyone close to me before so losing two people in less than a year is really hard.

Thank you Brenda. It means a lot to me.
