Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Looks like a couple of us might be following WW?
.
I did for years with co-workers, to the point that I can still look at almost any food and tell you the points. But then I discovered South Beach this fall and it seems to make me feel so much better physically, with no cravings. I think I eat too many carbs on WW.

D) I may be the baby of the group.....I turn 32 in a few days.:rolleyes1

perhaps I may be the baby of the group..I am 31 until July ;)

You guys are killing me! Get me some Geritol! :rotfl:

You're right about the cake being to heavy to eat on it's own. We've been eating it with vanilla icecream to lighten it up ;) Even with 4 of us eating it every night, we still have over 1/4 of a cake left after 4 days

I was thinking how good your cake sounded with some vanilla ice cream! Great minds! I might make it here for Valentine's Day, too.

MA pigletfan: What restaurant were you referring to that has the great eggs? I am from MA and always looking to try EVERYWHERE!!! It's also fun to find out someone is talking about a place we already love.

Thanks, Di

The preztel breadstick recipe is one the DH found searching for Disney recipes. It's not LeCelliers, because as you mentioned they don't make them themselves. This recipe did come pretty darn close though :thumbsup2

I'll give the recipe a try then because those pretzel sticks at Le Cellier were memorable - which is why I tried to track down the recipe. The other amazing bread at WDW is the dinner bread served at Kona Cafe. We've had a lot of requests for the recipe over on the Cooking Board and the Disney Recipe exchange but the Poly ignores all written requests (so far). If anyone is going there could you PLEASE :worship: ask the waitress for the recipe. It's actually pretty cool how many recipes you can pick up at the restaurants by just asking.

In that case I'll take a look at the South Beach diet because I often felt miserable during the weight loss - dizzy, headaches, shaky, hunger pangs to drive one crazy etc. Of course, I love food so cutting back is never fun, but it shouldn't be painful.

I got the original book in paperback (not the new one that's still in hardback with all the exercise stuff). I REALLY liked the recipes even if you weren't dieting. I did the phase 1 for 4 weeks instead of two and then started phase 2 slower than the book recommended. Add one fruit or one starch serving a day, not a meal for a week and the weight loss doesn't stall. Once I'm over this nasty bug, I'm looking forward to going back to it, b/c I felt more energetic and not fuzzy headed. My doctor is also a big proponent of it b/c it keeps your blood sugar level even.

This is sooo good and even dh loves it. I swear it tastes like pizza when you tweak it--tweaks in parentheses!

Cheesy Frittata
(serves 2)

2 tsp. Smart Balance spread
1/2 cup sliced onion
1/2 sliced bell pepper
1/2 cup sliced zucchini
2 small plum tomatoes, diced (or canned petite diced tomatoes when fresh aren't in season)
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil (or sprinkle of Italian seasoning or McCormick's pizza grinders spice)
Pinch of black pepper
1/2 cup egg substitute (or 4 eggs)
1/2 cup lowfat small curd cottage cheese
1/2 cup fat free evaporated milk (or just milk if no evap. handy)
3/4 ounce shredded red. fat cheese of choice

You will need a 10" ovenproof skillet (7" or so is fine for one serving). Coat with cooking spray and place over med-low heat til hot. Melt spread in skillet and add onion, pepper and zucchini and saute over med low heat til the vegetables are lightly browned, 2-3 minutes. Add the tomatoes, basil and black pepper to skillet and cook 2-3 min. then removed from heat.

Preheat broiler. In a blender (I just used a bowl and fork) combine egg, cottage cheese and milk till smooth. Pour egg mixture over the vegetables in skillet and cover and cook on med-low heat until the bottom is set and the top is still slightly wet. Transfer the skillet to the broiler and broil until the top is set, 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with the cheese and broil until the cheese melts.

(I also sprinkle a spoonful of real bacon bits over the top.)

:lmao: That is totally me! I feel like "RainMan" sometimes with the points thing.." 2 points, thats 5 points, only 3 points...gotta go to Kmart..." ok not the last part...but the point calculator in my brain is quite funny albeit useful!

WHAT????

BENDY GOES ON A HUNGER STRIKE
AND WE LET THE THREAD FALL TO PAGE 2????????

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'm gonna have to go and copy the recipe off the Toll House Chocolate Chips bag...

How'd we get that far up? I checked earlier today and found us on PAGE 5!!!!

So, for tonight's gourmet meal, I made spaghetti for dh and dd and I had two pieces of leftover frozen pizza. DD had yogurt for dessert and the cat is cleaning out the container as we speak.

What did you have, Michelle?

Ok... maybe it was a little lower... I just picked it up on pg 2 of my subscribed threads... I didn't want Bendy to think we had totally fallen off the wagon... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Dinner...lets see...

Spaghetti...:thumbsup2 (sauce from a jar...)

and you know I think that those in the "know" have got it wrong... to fight world hunger they need to feed everyone pasta... 2 pieces of spaghetti in a pot always end up enough to feed a small country... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Along with overdone veal parm patty thingies (mom was on the phone with one of her friends while cooking...) :sad2:

And it's snowing out so I have to go and see if I can get the crumbs out of a wonderful box of mice... :lovestruc

It's snowing here, too...probably not enough to get dd out of school tomorrow, though. :sad2:

DH and dd were arguing over the last two strands of spaghetti we had tonight; dd wants leftovers for school tomorrow so the next thing I know dh is eating corn chips covered in spaghetti sauce. :scared: Men!

I think men will eat anything!!!

I heard if you put ice cubes down the toilet you get a snow day... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, I thought I was going to gag--these antibiotics are messing with my appetite. And making me itch. So I'm not taking any more and calling the doctor back tomorrow. I can't imagine that stopping them would be any worse than starting a third different one. That can't be good either!

Well, the wind is howling--come on snow! :cold:

Hey... I hear Julie and Corey had the baby... Ferris Patrick Martin... cute... but the kids gonna get teased over the movie...

Sure, NOW you tell me about the ice cubes!!! :teacher: Why didn't I know that all those years before I retired? All I had to do was flush ice cubes and I could have had a break when I needed it??? Good grief!!!!! :rotfl: Wonder if crushed ice works?

I got the memo........spaghetti tonight. Didn't everyone hear it was spaghetti night? :confused3 DH gets all the sauce, though, because I can't have anything with tomato in it with my IC. I settle for plain pasta with olive oil and a bit of garlic or, if I'm not too lazy (like tonight), I'll make an alfredo sauce for myself.

That's funny! Wonder how many of us had spaghetti tonight?

I heard about Julie and Corey's baby's arrival. I loved the movie Ferris Beuler; it's hard to tell if he will get teased. What was I watching yesterday and someone's baby was named Phinaeus? (not Julia Roberts') All I could think of was Phinaeus and Ferb!

We were very careful with dd's name. Nothing rhymes with it, can't shorten it to anything yucky, just nice and traditional.

Not sure about crushed ice...

My girlfriends kitchen sink froze up at the lake over the weekend... they were going to chistle it out on Sunday...

Julia has Finn, Hazel and I believe Henry... but I haven't been invited over for a play date in quite a while so I'm not sure... :upsidedow

Crazy world.......we had spaghetti also! The sauce I made yesterday, though. I also made chicken parm with the sauce. I tried some whole wheat pasta with it. We're trying to eat more healthy. Yuck.......why ruin nice homemade sauce with "healthy pasta"?

Well if it's Wednesday it must be Prince Spaghetti Night :rotfl2:

Ok, it wasn't Prince, it was Prego :lmao:
