Hi there and welcome aboard! I'm glad you've enjoyed our reviews ... please jump right in and join the fun - everyone here is wonderful!
Congrats on the October trip! As for F&W ... the rumor is that they will be releasing program information sometime next month and will begin taking reservations for those events on August 11th. Depending on your schedule and your budget, food & wine pairings are a nice way to dip a toe into the special event programming ... we also really liked our French Regional Lunch last year at Bistro Paris (a little pricey at $135pp, but worth it).
You'll get all kinds of advice from the friendies here ... lots of F&W veterans.
Hi Robin, and welcome!! Its lots of fun to read and plan about the F&W events. The hard part is waiting until the list comes out.At least we're all waiting together!
Here is my recipe for Open House Punch; there are many of them out there but this is my favorite. It can also be made with good bourbon!
Open House Punch
2 1/2 c. Southern Comfort or good bourbon
6 oz. can of frozen OJ (thawed and undiluted)
12 oz. can of frozen lemonade (thawed and undiluted)
2/3 c. lemon juice
3 liters of lemon lime soda
ice
mint sprigs
lemon slices
Combine liquor and juices stirring well. Add soda and ice and garnish (if desired). We put the first 4 ingredients in a pitcher in the refrigerator and chill very well. Then, when we are ready to drink we add the chilled soda and no garnish. (We are too busy drinking to make it pretty...)
Vodka Slush
6 oz. can of frozen OJ (thawed and undiluted)
12 oz. can of frozen lemonade (thawed and undiluted)
12 oz. can of frozen limeade (thawed and undiluted)
1 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups water
2 cups vodka
2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda
Combine first 6 ingredients, mixing well. Freeze for 48 hours, stirring occasionally. For each serving spoon 3/4 cup frozen mixture into a tall glass; fill with soda. Serve at once!

I'm sorry to report that I failed in my recipe missionI did check with guest services and they referred me to my waitstaff but when you have 8 women at a table at meal times, it got too crazy. I'm sorry
I can't say that I'm thrilled with my blog ... I don't know squat about HTML and that's how everything is formatted there. :
On another (Orlando related) subject, I think I mentioned a few weeks ago DD got a good job. It will be so fun to be able to enjoy WDW with her in the coming months/years.
you guys wanna hear something funny?
my camera has a "cuisine" setting and I had no idea.![]()
Hi all.....my name is Heather and I'm a long time lurker on what seems like's everyone here's reports. I just came across this thread while re-reading Brenda's F&W review from last year and was immediately sucked in!
Brenda, I had shingles two years ago, and I feel your pain! I had to stick to Advil for the pain though, as the prescription pills they gave me made me so sick to my stomach. All I could think of was the girl in that commercial telling everyone how she takes Valtrex so her boyfriend doesn't get her herpes!![]()
Bendy-Friendie Bad Booze Alert!!!
I desperately wanted some Irish Cream, but not any cream would do. I wanted O'Mara's (thanks alot Epcot ... it's all your fault!).
I found something Friday that I thought might fit the bill and since it was only $10 I took a risk and brought home a bottle of Irish Manor Irish Cream Liqueur. According to the label not only is it imported from the Emerald Isle, but it's Legendary.
**End Bad Booze Alert**
Oh, to live in a world where I could say something like this! My version of this would be more like "the kids and I have been on the road to Target and the grocery store. Enjoying the chicken nuggets and juice boxes!"![]()
I feel like one of those runners who limps over the finish line of a marathon race, more dead than alive. I made it to the end of my symphony season, but thanks to complete exhaustion I've ended up with some sort of ghastly bronchitis and a throat raw from coughing.
What really sucked was that I started to come down with it on Sunday - the day I was shooting the audition DVD for Celebrity Cruise Lines as an enrichment speaker. I was woozy, headachy and croaky and couldn't string two sentences together for the life of me. My mind was just a complete blank. Unfortunately the camera crew and location was all booked so I had to muddle through it. I'm just hoping something can be salvaged in the editing process!
On top of all that I adopted two kittens last week, and one of them had a dodgy stomach. I took him to the vet and the poor little guy practically died from an allergic reaction to Flagyll (I think it's a kind of penicillin). He was a limp fur rag and barely breathing when the Adoption Society dropped off some homeopathic remedies very late at night. I stayed up the rest of the night giving him the herbs every 30 minutes and couldn't believe my eyes when - 4 hours - he actually stood up and went to get a drink! That's one life used up!

Bendy, I've heard that shingles manifests when your immune system is low - usually from stress and exhaustion. Have you been able to have any rest and is the condition improving? I guess you have your job interview today. Looking forward to seeing how that went.
No problem whatsoever. I'll be reading your report in the next week. Took me hours to get caught up here, LOL, and it's now 3 am - your report will be my next read.
I do web sites and on the Web Master boards Word Press is recommended as very easy software to use and it makes good looking sites. Is this what you use?
Congrats on that! I wish my son would get a job in Orlando - actually - anywhere would be nice
I could only think how fitting that was.
Shingles is the same kind of virus as herpes isn't it? It's not genital but it's the same family.
Thanks for the warning Bendy. Cheap booze is tempting but not when it;'s so bad it can't even be used as a mixer.
Best line of the night!![]()

Angela, the kitties are so cute!!!! The orange one looks like our Morris when he wandered into our lives at about 5 months old. Glad you made it back from your travels, but it sounds like you need some well-deserved rest. We'll all keep our fingers crossed on the video.
Brenda, I love the Homer sig art! That's exactly what I was picturing when you described it. You have to get that made into a t-shirt--I can tell you how. That's the sign of a true Disney freak, you know, making your own matching t-shirts!
I'm toying with the idea of trying to make us the mickey head spiral tie dyed ones for Disneyland.
thanks. I make all my own sigs.
testing ...
