Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Thanks... a bit better today... got out to plant a little today... trying to do it in between showers...

CHELLE...... Order Mickey Bars from Room Service... There is a private deck at the back of Deck 7... Go get the pastries at Cove cafe during the afternoon and if they have the chocolate cups with the strawberries... have one for me... and of course you MUST have a Konked Cooler!!!!

Have fun!!!

Excellent suggestions :thumbsup2 This is a learning/research trip, so I'll just have to try them all :goodvibes

I could use something to help me konk out now, I'm to excited to sleep

Have a great time and order a mochaccino while you're at the Cove Cafe! I think I can trace all of my weight gain to that insidious coffee / ice cream drink when I first tried it on the Magic back in 2004. I've been addicted ever since! :lmao:

Have a great time, and tell us all about your adventures when you get back! :cool1:

OK, Bendies, I'm getting to the point where I need to start planning our ADR's for Oct. We're celebrating our 29th anniversary year (and...um...NOT mentioning to Disney that I turn EEEK...50 in Aug), so maybe this year will be our maiden voyage to V&A's.
And suggestions? Is it worth trying for the Chef's table? We're spending two nights at WL at the beginning of our stay, so I was thinking if we did this we could just hop on a boat over to MK, and then transfer to another boat to GF. Is this the best way to do this?

Any and all thoughts and advice would be so appreciated.

First, happy anniversary and happy birthday (early, I know, but otherwise I might forget) !!! :goodvibes

The Chef's Table is great as long as you don't mind eating in the kitchen and interacting with the chefs. It's a little short on ambience but waaay long on taste and variety and downright incredible food. We loved it when we ate there for our anniversary a few years ago - something we'll never forget.

One thing you could keep in mind is that if you can't get the Chef's Table proper, you can sometimes book a regular table in the dining room and request the CT menu (but you must do this when you book your reservation - you can't spring it on them when you arrive for dinner). That way you could have the best of both worlds ... if they let you do it. I've heard that some people have done this but Jay and I have not.

Eating in the dining room and ordering off the regular menu is pretty darn fine, too. :thumbsup2

Ok... if you're still checking in...

If you are looking for something to do that is NOT in the bars at night... go up to deck 9 and watch the current movie they have on the Ariel screen... (grab snacks and order a drink...) (extra towels if it is cool can be found in the towel cabinets...)

Order more than one entree if you want to try something...

See the fireworks from Deck 10 on the Starboard side or if you can't get there then go to deck 10 by the party on the port side, up by the stage area... the fireworks are shot off from the starboard side but it can get crowded there...

Have your pictures taken

don't miss Palo if you can... go 1st day and get ressies when you board the ship... DEFINATELY a plus!!! (and Palo is where you should order more than one entree.. and dessert!!!)

I leave for Disney tomorrow morning :yay:

Any requests for info (I've printed the recipe exchange requests ;)) I'll be at AKL Wednesday night and then on the Disney Wonder Thurs - Sunday morning.

Any last minute tips for me?

I'm so jealous! I hope you have a Great time...what am I saying??? I KNOW you'll have a Great time! :goodvibes Just bring back some awesome recipes to share.

so i had this long post and POOF my computer ate it!!
Long story short...HAPPY SUPER BELATED ANNIVERSARY Brenda and Jay :) ...LOVE the wedding pics!!
And from all of the suggestions we are now strongly considering Tutto! thanks Friendies!

oh definitely go to Palo. You'd be missing one of the dining rooms but the food at Palo is better than the dining room's food. And do a brunch if you can. If you don't have one booked you might be able to book one when you get on the ship. I am not sure where you go to book it - whether you go to Palo or another location on the ship.

I just got off the Magic and not the Wonder or I'd say go visit my favorite bartenders and cruise staff - but hey different ship.

If they do "Pub Night" on the last night, it's hilarious.

Go and see "Up" if it is playing on the ship!

I have never been to Tutto but I was at Chefs de France on Saturday. I was kind of thrown off by the tomato paste on the tomato/goat cheese flatbread. I don't dislike tomato paste but I won't be ordering that again. Stick to onion soup and maybe something that isn't a flatbread. (Am in some sort of discussion on the restaurant boards as to whether they use tomato paste or crushed tomatoes and my money is on the tomato paste, at least as of Saturday. Remy is cute as heck though if you are there when he is performing.)

As for your question, I'd have to answer with a question back; Dining Plan or OOP? I've never been to Tutto because I can't justify the prices, but if you're on the DDP :thumbsup2 Chefs de France I love and would go DDP or OOP :goodvibes

We're on the free dining plan. Well it's 2 votes for each place so it's going to be a tough choice. Maybe Remy's show will tip the balance. need to find out when it is.

Also, a question about Eat to the Beat concerts at Epcot. Can someone describe what happens here and do you need to purchase tickets besides the Park Hopper? Is Big Voodoo Daddy worth going to?

Remy appears at Chefs on Monday through Saturday (no Sunday appearances) between 12:30 and 6 PM. I've seen two dates for them stopping this: September 5 and September 10. No idea which one is correct but I tend to see September 5 more. It does not sound like your trip is taking place while Remy is still there. If you are there before September 5 and you want to see him, book something that will get you seated before 6.

The concerts are included with your Epcot admission. You don't need to do anything else but show up at the theater. I am going down there just to attend the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert. They are basically a swing band. I have never seen them live but have some of their songs.

BBVD put on a GREAT show! You'll have a fantastic time!! We're going to see them again this winter. (Yes...I keep up with where they are touring that far in advance.:rotfl:)

I went to see them last year but it coincided with the Adventurers Club closing and the club was open from 6PM on the last nights, so no concert then- it's makeup time this year.

Chelle, I missed your departure, but I hope you're having a great time!

Tatania, so nice to put a name and face with an avitar! Can we call you Angela? I would vote for Tutto because we loved everything we ate there. (Have not been to Chefs, so I can't comment there.) I had the lasagna, and if you're going to splurge on carbs, this is the place to do it. DH had the fish and mussells, which was very unlike his pasta-loving self, and enjoyed every bite. You know one of my favorite things I had there? Pistachio gelato.

Guess what everybody? We get two days in Disneyland now instead of just one! :cool1: Although, budgetwise, we're having to give up a day at Catalina Island. That's okay, there's next year for that. I'm so excited! That means one day with family at DL and then one day by ourselves.

Have fun at DL!!!!

You have to have a Tigger Tail - you can get them at the shop back by the Winnie the Pooh ride...

&&&&&&&&&

you can get the pretzels in the shape of Mickey Mouse... I loved that... :goodvibes

ALSO!!!!!!!

One of my friends from the PC Repo thread was at DL last night and she got to see the new fireworks... she said they were fantastic!!!!! (dumbo flies...:goodvibes)

No MORE Remy??? :guilty: Awww, they should keep good stuff like that - though look what happened to the Adventurer's Club. My sister is sad that she'll never, ever get to see what it was all about.

I always say, you can call me anything but boring.

Wonderful news!!! We have a couple recipe requests for DL as well on the DisBoards Recipe Exchange :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 They are:

PACIFIC WHARF CAFÉ, CA DL
2326: Oriental Chicken Salad

PLAZA RESTAURANT, DL
1462: Tomato Soup page 98

You know what food always reminds me of Disneyland? Chocolate covered frozen bananas. I'm such a dork. I may have to try that Tigger Tail, though...

I'll see what I can do! Do you usually just ask your server if they have the recipe available for said menu item?

I'm thinking about surprising dd with the Minnie and Friends breakfast. Have you seen how many characters you can knock out at that one place?? From the posts and TRs I've read, it's usually at least 10ish, which is mind boggling. When do you have time to eat your Mickey waffles? :lmao:

We have truly never eaten a proper meal in DL that I can ever remember; we always just went for a day growing up and returned to my aunt's house for dinner. When dh and I were there in 1999, the only thing I remember eating was a frozen banana and some beignets in New Orleans Square.
