Bell Services Holding Luggage

I just heard a nasty little rumor that bell services isn’t holding your luggage if you arrive at your resort before your room is ready. Has anyone recently dropped your luggage and left for a park on an early arrival day?

Just another incorrect "rumor". As @erionm posted above Bell Servcies and Luggage storage is still alive and well.

Bell Services will even delivery your luggage to your room. You just need to be there to receive it. Also they can't escort you to your room due to social distancing guidelines.

They will hold your luggage if your room isn't ready upon arrival and also hold your luggage after checkout if your Magic Express is later in the day.

We left our luggage with Pop bell service and they told us they would deliver it to our room when it was available and we were out in the parks. I even had a lunch box cooler with frozen yogurt cups that they put in their fridge. Then when we came back at 9:45pm all of our suitcases were in our room and our cooler was in the fridge. So at least at pop they are doing free delivery to room and you don’t have to be there. Maybe it is because no one had been in there yet? IDK

Agreed. We were able to check our luggage before our room was ready at check-in and on day of check out before we left for our flight.

Question about Bell Services.

I assume that I can drop off my bags day of check out and return for bags even though I'm not taking ME that night. Will be staying at Coronado then off property for a night before flying out.

They'll hold your luggage if your room isn't ready. They give you a little ticket with your name and number of luggage items on it. Then you just have to call Bell Services from your room and they'll deliver it. :)

The standard is for arriving guests leaving bags early with Bell Services (always allowed) is to retrieve or call for the bags and tip the bellhop, when returning from the park that evening.

During busy times Bell Services can get overloaded with bags in which case some may be taken to guest rooms as the latter become ready, without the guests' being there.

Shoot to be back at your resort an hour and fifteen minutes before your Magical Express bus time back to the airport. (One hour if you did not leave bags with Bell Services.)

Pop doesn't offer traditional on demand bell services. Pop offers luggage assistance. PreCovid you didn't have to be in the room when your luggage was picked up or dropped off. Sounds like that hasn't changed.

edited to add I've never read any examples of a hotel violating policy by dropping bags in an unoccupied room unless that's standard hotel policy. A full luggage storeage room doesn't result in luggage being dropped off in guest rooms early.

That’s fantastic bell service!! We’ve never had bags delivered when we weren’t there, but in a case like that, how do you tip so that it gets to the right person? Do they leave some kind of card with their name? I’d feel terrible if someone schlepped ALL our crap (I don’t pack light) and didn’t even get a tip.

I just tipped him when I dropped it off. No way to tip the person who delivered unfortunately. Our suitcases were just sitting inside the room and our bag in the refrigerator.
