We have never stayed at a moderate as we have always been lucky to get a special rate at a deluxe so have some questions. When checking in (and checking out, for that matter), what is the bell service like? I have read on this site that it may take hours for them to deliver your luggage to your rooms (and I would imagine the same when checking out).

Any first-hand experience and/or suggestions?

THANKS, in advance!

We have stayed at POR numerous times and never waited more than 10 minutes for delivery or pick up from bell services.

We were there July 04 and checked in about 11:00 am, and we got our stuff in about 15 minutes.

Now if you are taking ME it can take a couple of hours for your luggage to get to your room.

Always had prompt bell service at all of the WDW resorts (and Swan/Dolphin), including POFQ.

We've only stayed at value resorts previously - can you take your own "stuff" if your room is ready or does the resort prefer that bell services takes your luggage to your room?

bring your stuff to your room in one of the golf carts or do they bring over on a cart? We will have a TON of stuff so are just wondering.
THANKS! :earseek:

Typically at the POFQ the bell service people will get your luggage and give you a luggage check tag. You then go in to check into the room. When you get up in the room you call bell services and they deliver it to your room. Typically only takes about 15-20 minutes. If it is a peak time it can take longer. We've always had great service.

always stayed at a deluxe so the baggage is a snap to have delivered. THANKS!

a golf cart to bring the bags around?

When they first opened they would load you and your bags up in the golf cart and bring you to your room. Now, you leave them with bell services, go check in. When you get to your room they bring your bags directly to you. Yes, they use a golf cart to bring the bags, in many cases, depending on where your room is located.

At POR I have seen them transport guests in the golf carts with luggage but that is typically late at night and to the outer mansions.

Can we not just take the baggage ourselves? We have the roller luggage, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem.

Sure, you always can. We typically have had too much luggage since we come for a couple weeks. And, until this upcoming trip we've had a stroller, car seat, and all the stuff that go with a toddler. This will be the first year we have not had all that. But, since my parents are older it is easier for us to have the bellman take our luggage.

We see people rolling their own bags all the time. It is up to you.

We will be arriving at 6:00 in the morning on our flight. Whew!! Anyways, the MYWE will be picking us up. Do you know if after we check in, and leave for the parks to play, if they will then deliver our luggage to our room?? And if they do while we are gone, do we tip somehow??? Thanks! :flower:

I always use the bell service at the moderate and at the deluxe. There are always there in less than 15 minutes to pick up our luggages or to even drop them off upon arrival. We have never had any problem with the service at any moderates nor deluxes. No problem at POFQ.

Typically they won't deliver until you are there. With the new program, I'm not sure, though. I know they say that you should call when you get to your room and they will get it right up to you. Perhaps someone knows if this has changed with the new program.
