Being thrown out of the Animal Kingdom for littering?

I'm with other posters that believe this should be a rule for all the resorts. And why would this be a surprise to anyone that this would happen at AKL?

I can say that I was nearly expelled years ago for choking one of those ibis birds in Epcot.

Not choking it exactly but that's what it looked like. It had flown into a womans bassinet stroller (the kind that look like a little covered prairie wagon) and got caught up in the tent of the thing and her kid's blanket. Kid was in there too.

So I run over, just intending to drop the shade on the stroller but it all went pear-shaped. The bird was tangled in a blanket and the canopy top of the stroller did not want to collapse and the woman is screaming straight into my face. But I busted down the catch on the stroller topper and extricated the bird who was not happy at all.

And while I was doing that little dance of keeping the bird at arms length long enough to set him loose without breaking anything, security showed up. They were really angry. I couldn't imagine anyone being angry with me it felt like it took 10 minutes to get that bird out of the baby carriage. It hadn't taken that long and the security guys hadn't seen that part.

In the end, all's well that ends well.

Animals cannot clean up after humans who try to poison them with their trash. They can't hold the trash bags, and they can't hold the broom!

I heard they will thrown you out for littering in the Animal Lodge for dumping stuff on the savannah or at the park or teasing the animals and such even if you pay already? Is that true?

I've actually read a post about some people who were kicked out for smoking on the balcony - I think here on the DIS.

I remember this post as well. Something about security having footage of the room occupants smoking/throwing cigs off the balcony and being escorted off property...

I don't know why this question was asked either, but in the event the OP intends to test the theory out, it is an expensive way to determine if rues are meant to be followed, "even if you pay".

I would think that you would get thrown out of any resort for throwing litter off your balcony. And if you have a package you have to have it paid off 45 days prior to check in and room only you have to pay at check in so of course your rooms will be paid for.

The visual of this whole event is priceless.

It was sort of one of those, 'no good deed goes unpunished' situations. I'm sure it was hilarious for everyone but the bird and (at the time) I.

My original plan was to just open the carriage up a bit and shoo the bird out. When that failed I tried to hold it like a football, with the wings held closed as I would hold my doves when I worked as a magician's assistant (the things we remember when they are needed). But the bugger got the jump on me and I ended up loosely gripping his neck while he flapped all over the place. They have claws on their feet and I didn't want to just drop it and have it back into the carriage.

If it had taken any longer to let the bird go the security guard would have tasered me. I'm sure of it.
