being pencilled in for a date with Escape

My understanding is that with an Escape you can hold a date from 12 months but cant actually book until 8 months out but with Wishes you can book and confirm date at 12 months? does that mean if an Escape bride ask to hold a date/time for a location at 12 months and a wishes bride comes along at 11/10 or 9 months from the date and wants that same location at the same date/time the Escape bride will loose it?

Yes...if you have a specific location and time...and are just penciled in...then a Wishes bride comes along and what's that same specific location and time...that party will have first ''dibs' sad but true...

Right. We had originally planned our wedding for 12 months out back in October of last year, but realized that if a Wishes Wedding wanted that date/time, we'd take a backseat. So we moved the wedding up! My initial Disney consultant Diane had told me that after you are penciled in, you can call every month just to make sure it's still open

I booked an Escape first then changed to a Wishes. But if you're not looking at a popular day like 8-9-10, 10-10-10, Valentine's Day or 11-11-11, I don't think you'll have to be worried about getting your date.

My sales consultant told me that most Escape brides always get the location they want... just not the exact times, so you have to be a bit flexible. I got lucky and changed our date from 12-20-10 to 6-14-10 in October to I was at the 8 month mark when we decided to move it up. I had my contract emailed to me within 3 days.
