Behind the Screams tour/HHN

I'm breaking this into its own post so it doesn't get lost. Sorry if the duplication is annoying.

We'd like to do the afternoon Behind the Screams tour for a late October trip (date TBD).

How fast do these sell out? There are a lot of dates in the time range we're looking at: Oct. 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31

Is the cost ($80 per person) worth it? I assume I need to have a theme park ticket as well.
 
In the 14 years I've done HHN I have never paid for any of the tours...I spend enough on the ticket and EP so can't help you there. I've heard the tours are fun and do sell out especially on weekends.

Yes...you will need a theme park ticket for entry.

I think you are talking about the Unmasking the Horror tours. There are morning and afternoon tours or you can do them both.

I did both the morning and afternoon tour last year. I felt it was a bargain at 129.99 plus tax. Was able to see 3 houses in morning and 3 in afternoon. Guides where very informative. I was really able to appreciate the artistry that went in to the creation of the 6 houses I saw.

Would refer you to watch for all the tidbits and the best information concerning HHN on the Sticky created here on the Universal boards it is under Offical 2017 HHN-27 Thread. Keishashadow who created that Sticky along with Mac, Schumigirl and all the HHN regulars will have the most accurate information for everything you want to know about HHN.

If you book unmask the horror both morning and afternoon for same day, there is a slight discount to do so
 

For the other regulars that go to HHN each year, do you always book an Unmask tour each year? We're going to our 5th HHN, and we've never done an Unmask tour. I'd like to try it, but my DW is not sure. I know people here like the tour, but do you like it so much that you go every year? That might sway our decision to book a tour this year. Of course the final list of houses would enter the equation too. Thanks!
 
Thanks to the great information I received from Macraven my niece and I did the Unmaskimg the Horror tour morning and afternoon last year for the first time and it was awesome.

I will be doing the morning and afternoon tour again this year. The tour adds a level of appreciation for the creativity that goes into creating these houses. To me it is well worth it.
 
I'm completely and totally addicted to the unmask the horror day tours

Many years back I was there when they did the first house walk through
$5 and loved it


Only missed this yearly tour the two years it was not held

I very much enjoy all the details that are in the houses that can't be seen during the night

Well some items can be seen in the dark but most items not visible unless you know where to look for them

Detail items of the theme of the house/movie/book they are based on, will be found in a majority of the houses

I hit about 7 nights of hhn each season and prefer to do the day tour on the second night I do hhn

Pictures are allowed in specific houses on the tours
Lights are on in each house for the tour
