Behind the Scenes Tours

We will be going to WDW in August 2006 and want to do something new and fun, like a behind the scenes tour at MK. But in many books I have read and sites I have visited say that people under 16 can't go on these tours. We have 9 people total in our party and only one is below 16, does anyone know if Disney strictly enforces this rule? Even if he is the only one in our party below 16? He is 13. Any info is helpfull.

You can do Mickey's Magical Milestone tour (it has a lower age requirement). We really enjoyed it.

I think that my parents were thinking of doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Anyone know anything about bending of the rules for this tour?

They absolutly will not bend the rules on this. In this tour you go behind the scenes and see things not in "Show". Also Disney has been sued in the past over an incident invloving an underage teen in the backstage area thus the very strict age requirements.

They are VERY strict about the Keys to the Kingdom tour. When me and my dad were going on it, there was a family with 2 daughters- one just a few months under 16. They would NOT let her go. The whole family did not take the tour. So they do get strict about the ages. Mickey's Magical Milestones is a good tour as well.

Thank you everyone for your imput. We will try the tour that you suggested. At least now we won't get everyone excited about going on a tour that we all won't be able to go on.

If the kid is 16 but no driving yet, they wouldn't have an ID. So does Disney take your word for it?

When was Disney sued for this? Who won? I'd like to read that case!
