Behaviours That Should Possibly Be Banned?

And frankly that is not possible when you have 3 kids.
It is not my job to make sure your kids can see, just like it is not some other adults job to let my kids in front of them at a parade so that they can see. It is up to me to look after my kids, and as I have stated if we were not able to get a spot where they can see without being on my shoulders then they will go up, they would have already been on my shoulders while we wait as it is the easiest way to contain them in the crowd so if you end up behind me (which would be because you arrived after I did) then I am not taking them down and making them miss it because you want to show up later and expect an unobstructed view.

There is no point in going around in circles anymore on this.
You are in a movie theatre. Parents in front of you were there long before you. The movie is about to start. They let their 2 kids stand on the seats between their parents legs. The theatre is absolutely packed. There is no where for you to go. Now you can't see the movie at all. What are you going to do after all you paid to go see the movie too?

Tried that :)

I apologize if you attempted to end the discussion with me and I missed it. I do see your quote above about agreeing to disagree. However, I think that was from a post earlier today directed at someone else.

I just hate to think that I continued a discussion that you didn't want to continue with. Certainly not my intention.

You know, now that I think about it, I'm probably totally wrong on the whole shoulder thing. I think Disney has made their viewpoint pretty clear via the Wilderness Lodge. So, this is how my family is going to watch the next parade. We are going to start practicing tomorrow:

LOL

Now my quandary ... I have arrived before you because you showed up at the last minute, finding a spot directly behind me. (???) I put my kid up on my shoulders. Your loss. Then the person directly in front of me does the same. Should I be okay with that? I guess so since that person showed up way before me and therefore I should have shown up even earlier. My loss?

(Sorry, couldn't help myself)

I don't think they are comparable because it is easier to have the kids raised withou blocking your view since the theatres are stadium seating.
But again it is the question of the kids also paid to be there and if they can't see another way do you expect them to miss out?

Both kids should still be able to see as they would be at a similar height like 2 adults one in front of the other

About as touching as "I show up last minute and expect children to miss out so that I don't"

you keep assuming the person showed up last minute and many of us keep saying that has not been our experience, that the kid went up on the shoulders last minute after it was too late to move around

Well, you could just raise the kids to the height of your head when watching the fireworks. So you are saying that the movie theatre scenario with the kids standing on the chairs would be fine for you because it's about the kids and you would just have to sit there and miss the movie?

@Hey Hey It comes down to the conundrum in both your examples where you are complaining that someone is putting their viewing experience above yours while being willing to put your viewing experience above theirs.
Its that simple.

I'm not assuming, I am discussing my experiences.

Well in my experiences I have been standing in the middle of Main Street, and someone throws their child up on their shoulders right at the fireworks starts. I've had that happen more than once. So now I either have to try and move if possible, say something to now giant person and hope they are nice and will lower their child a bit, or suffer and see only part of the show. Note that I was there first, but now I am the one left trying to cope with what someone else has decided is proper.

Note you haven't said they pushed in front of you just that the child was not up on the shoulders. They may have very well been there first (hence you are behind them).
However I completely agree that they should be waiting on the shoulders already if they are going up there so people know when deciding where to stand

Fireworks and parades are for standing only. I won't feel one once of regret standing in front of someone who is too lazy to stand up like an adult and decides to sit. It's no wonder 1/3 of the people at WDW these days are riding around in hover-rounds.

I stand bc that is what everyone does...but as a short person I wish everyone would stay seated on the ground so viewing could be easier

I agree. I'm short as well. I remember a few years back when we were in DLR there was no standing for the fireworks. At least not when we were there. CMs were telling everyone to sit down. I remember because there was a couple that refused to sit down and pretended they couldn't hear the CMs and everyone else yelling at them to sit down. I guess sitting isn't the norm though?
